I am too excited about Magus Bride to have my parade rained on.
I can understand why someone would judge this show by its cover, because quite frankly I did too. I put off reading the manga for a while because I read that Elias wanted Chise as a bride, I've watched enough anime to know how this sort of thing tends to go ("Kyaa~ Elias ecchi~!"... That felt so wrong lol) but I finally gave in and gave it a go, and it's on of the best teacher/student stories I have ever read in anime.
I do understand that the show most certainly isn't for everyone. It is slow paced, doesn't have a lot of adrenaline fueled excitement but I connect with it on an emotional level. I knew I had hit the jackpot with this series as I am reading Ruth's backstory and before I knew it, I'm crying. I'm not someone who really, actually cries at any kind of media very often, and it's almost unheard of for manga. So if you are the kind of person that likes to connect with a show on an emotional level, this would be the kind of show for you.
It's going to be a wonderful season for shows that are a little more thoughtful, as Kino's Journey is quite fantastic in that sense as well. Anyone who has watched the original series hopes that we are in for the same kind of treat.
I do realize I am babbling, as I usually do when it comes to this show and I truly believe it is because it is a series that has really resonated with me, and I am excited to share the excitement with new people. I found it a wonderful experience, I want other people to experience that too!
@gohan6425 I have not watched Black Clover myself, but I have heard a lot of people saying it is "the new Fairy Tail", so maybe it is one you should check out!
Side note, I will 100% agree with @Queenira that dubbed theme songs aren't always best. I try not to criticize, but I cringed when I first heard the Sakura Kiss dubbed theme...
Ahh, got in my daily quota for Magus Bride fangirling. I needed that!
