Have more countrys to choose in filling out parts of ordering than just canada/usa

  • as the title says id like this mainly because as somebody who lives in the isle of man uk it means I cant order anything from here and its the only place that exists were I can order more dvds of the anime im trying to watch
I did place a support ticket asking about this but seeing as how ive had no response I figured id suggest it here.

  • Sadly, this is unlikely to happen.

I live outside of the United States and Canada. Can you help me with a purchase?
Unfortunately, no. Per contractual obligations, we can only sell and ship to the U.S.A. and to Canada. This also extends to customer support.

  • I wonder how they managed to get them obliged to only shipping to 2 country's seems like they'd make a hell of a lot more money if they weren't restricted like this.

yea I noticed that turning up after I made that post funnily enough
but im not willing to pay 80 pounds for a pre owned copy
but of course then again I may never get a chance like this again so I guess ill think it over.

makes me wish it wasn't such a pain to find anime over here in the west
although there is a pre owned store in Douglas which has an anime section much to my surprise were I managed to obtain ghost in the shell which Ive heard good stuff about even though its a single episode.

ps my apologies for the f bomb didn't think it would be a bother to people here.

  • You could just buy the USA version from some source… Amazon won't work, but maybe you can get it from "The Right Stuff" or something. You would need to get a USA region 1 DVD/BluRay though, and maybe a US (not PAL) TV as well... although if you buy a Computer Bluray drive, you can usually just change the region (only lets you do it a few times).

It does appear complicated, but in the long run; if you intend to buy Anime, staying with the reliable USA option is best.

  • hey long time to do a reply I know but Ive been really distracted with stuff lately.
bwt I don't use a television to watch my dvds I use the same laptop im typing this on so I don't know if region locking works the same way for those
but ill do some digging when I remember to any way.
also I found something in a preowned shop I tend to scour for anime called innocent Venus 1 cruel world don't know if you've happened to hear of it but it looks relatively interesting despite being annoyingly vague on the plot it self.

Yea it's good. Plus another thing people don't know… you can change the region of a player under it's hardware setting hidden in Windows to whatever you want; although usually limits you to like 3 times. If you buy an external player (such as USB), you can have whatever alt region you want. It modifies the firmware of the device.

  • Something else of interest, although it may not apply in this particular case. Playstation doesn't lock regional codes. I happened to find this by accident when ordering imported Japanese language games. The same holds true for anime as well.

  • so turns out I was just looking at amazon and turned out a new used copy was being sold for a non rip off price so ill be obtaining it from the uk.
Ill be sure to keep your words of wisdom in mind though in the future if I have obtain anime from other parts of the world.
also is innocent Venus any good? I haven't had a chance to watch it but it looks interesting.

  • No idea, haven't seen it b4…

  • wellp I finely got and watched my hellsing and it was pretty sick even though some part no sense what so ever.
now ive just got to play the waiting game to see when the 2 final parts pop up ive tried looking for it else were and ive had no luck at all.
