Funimation released a five-minute preview with English subtitles for the upcoming anime Drifters, set to air on Funimation this October during the Fall 2016 Simulcast Season. Drifters is based on an ongoing fantasy, alternate history manga that began in 2009 and currently has 5 volumes released. Dark Horse Manga publishes the manga in the US and there are 3 volumes released so far. The manga is very popular and "has more than 1.5 million copies in print including English, French, German, Italian and Chinese translations. Nominated for the 4th and 5th Manga Taisho Awards in Japan, an honor shared with huge hit series such as My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Assassination Classroom, and One Punch Man."
From the creator and team behind Hellsing, comes a thrilling story where history and fantasy collide!
5 Minute Preview:
"Writer Kouta Hirano, best known for his highly successful 'Hellsing' series, leads the creative team for the series. He is joined by fellow 'Hellsing' alums Kenichi Suzuki (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure/Stardust Crusaders) as director and Ryoji Nakamori as character designer. Hideyuki Kurata (Grisaia, Maria the Virgin Witch, Nanana, The World Only God Knows) is writing the series composition, as well as writing the screenplay with Yousuke Yuroda (High School of the Dead, Gundam 00).
In addition to the preview video, Funimation also released character designs for the main cast. What is really cool about this show is that the characters are based on actual historical figures. Well I learnt a little something today thanks to those links. I mean i know who Anastasia and Rasputin were, Jeanne of arc, Nobunaga and Abe Seimei. But the others were a pleasant read. Thanks for the links
Needs more Fate/
I would LOVE to see Cao Cao and Lu Bu.
Needs more Fate/
I mean going off of the premise alone Drifters is basically what happens if Fate was written by Kohta Hirano.
Then again it wouldn't be too outrageous when you realize both authors have drawn porn before.

Well for my part, this old meme says it all:
I kinda wish the PV they cut for this was a bit better because it seems to have a great staff working on it.
