Fan Catches All Shiny Pokemon After 3 Years Of Hunting!

  • Ash Ketchum has nothing on Robert Meehan. This authentic Pokemon Master has achieved the truly unthinkable, catching all 703 shiny Pokemon naturally obtainable. Choosing to go the clean route, with no hacks, trades, or events, the entire process took Meehan nearly three yearsoutrageous, yet understandable when considering that the probability of encountering a shiny is currently at 1 in 4,096. Believe it or not, this number has actually been greatly increased since the original titles, which had the chances at a whopping 1 in 8,192.

It wasn"t long after those initial games were released that trainers like Meehan, known as Shiny Hunters, began their pursuit. But so far, Robert Meehan is the only trainer known to have truly caught them alland you better bet he has proof. You can watch Meehan proudly show off his complete collection in the videos below.

I sorry but common now… Just to catch 1 SHINY! And to try to catch 1 takes a LONG TIME! But to catch all 703 OMFG! The only time I got my hands on a shinny is when I not even trying to look for them... -_-

    THIS GUY HAD NO LIFE!

  • Two things:

    1. What's the point of making a giant thread showing what's legitimately a kind of neat and impressive feat like this only to really just add "LOL THIS GUY'S GOTS NO LIEF"

    2. This should probably be moved to the Gaming section.

  • PFFY I caught them all as well.

    I totally cheated tho.

    Stil, pretty cool!

Yes It a GREAT FEAT no question about that… BUT at the same time the ONLY way he did this is he did nothing for 3 Years... You know HARD it is to find a shinny and I mean JUST 1 SHINNY! It could take hours or even days... So this guy had to have NO LIFE for 3 years to do this..

But it is a Japan Anime....

Wait but it Japan Anime? -_-

  • This is a pretty awesome accomplishment. The guy's dedicated and patient, I can respect that.

It's a GAME, that's why he moved it to the Gaming Section.

  • @gohan6425:

Because Pokemon the anime =/= Pokemon the game.

But it still an anime from Japan…

Yes but he caught all the Pokemon in the GAME.

I knew a guy who was dedicated to it and he, along with others he talked to online, developed sytems of increasing the chances of finding shiny pokemon. Completely legitimate ways I might add. Hell, I even found a couple in one day just looking for something with an itemfinder. Saying he has no life is uncalled for.

    Agreed. Quite an impressive achievement.

  • I'm not sure if you could trade into the newer games beyond HG/SS but it wasn't TOO hard to get shinies in a non-cheating way.

It is actually possible to trade a pokemon from the original Ruby all the way up to Omega Ruby.

You even get a special reward for secret bases called the "Time Travel Award" for doing so

That creating! Developed systems is STILL CHEATING! I trying one for like 4 hours and did NOT get 1 shiny don't give me that BS! Yes had no life deal with it… It was NOT uncalled for me to said it...

Uh it not that hard as your saying it is… But there no "Time Travel Award"... I don MANY TIME ALREADY and never gotting one...

There have been several ways in games that increase the likelihood of encountering a shiny. I wouldn't exactly call it cheating more….Clever use of game mechanics. Either way to get them all still requires dedication that I know I dont have haha!

Also insulting people is typically uncalled for. Deal with it.

I….Never once said it was hard? It is not hard just involved and requires a lot of pieces.

Also, there is an award. Here is an example of someone who has one:

And if anyone is curious here is how you can transfer as well as where to get the Time Traveler Award once you have done the process (Hint: Gohan watch so you can get the award)

IT IS CHEATING! IF USING SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU FINE SHINY EASYER IT IS CHEATING! IT IS NO DIFFERENT THEN GAME SHARK…

It is not "insulting" I state he had no life if all he does 3 years which mostly is... I stated my opinion and that it...

    And thanks...

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Shiny_Charm <–Something that lets you find shiny pokemon easier that is not cheating!

Also: Well, your opinion is mean. But hey thats just my opinion.

T IS CHEATING! IF USING SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU FINE SHINY EASYER IT IS CHEATING! IT IS NO DIFFERENT THEN GAME SHARK…

Actually no it is different, using something the developers put into the game is different then modifying the data to make shiny pokemon appear.

  • Using the missingno glitch would be a cheat, hacking your pokemon to level 100 is a cheat, using an item they give you for completing the pokedex not a cheat
