ARTFX Ken Kaneki Figure
-
yes hello i am here
I seem to recall a blog post a couple months ago where FUNi was advertising the figure, and it's slated to release next month in Japan, but no word on it from FUNi since then… Just curious, is it still gonna be a thing? And if so, how much longer will we have to wait before we can buy it here? Not having to deal with super expensive shipping would be ideal, but IT'S MY KANEKI AND I WANT IT NOW.
Thanks in advance!
goodbye i am gone

Can you give me a link to the blog post in question? Odds are if it's been released, you can probably find it for sale at a place like RightStuf.

The US release of figures is usually 1-2 months after the Japanese date, so you can expect US stores to get Kaneki sometime in late October or November provided the figure doesn't experience any production delays. You can use this page to keep track of the Japanese release date and any delays: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/264423
Anime Island still has reservations available: http://www.anime-island.com/products/tokyo-ghoul-kaneki-ken-artfx-j-1-8-scale-figure-awakened-ver.html They do require a 20% non-refundable down payment, however, or you can choose to pay in full.
Big Bad Toy Store is another one to check out, but they don't offer any discounts from list price.
Crunchyroll also has 2 left for pre-order: http://www.crunchyroll.com/store/p/164061/Tokyo-Ghoul-Ken-Kaneki-Awakened-Ver-ARTFX-J-Statue They require full payment immediately but you can get free shipping using their SHINJI75 coupon code (US only), and you can use the free trial of premium to save a little extra, just be sure to remember to cancel the subscription afterwards so you don't get hit with the auto-bill.
I've used and trust both Anime Island and CR Store. Of the two I'd recommend CR first because they tend to get figures in a little earlier than AI (AI is on the east coast). If you want Kaneki ASAP, I'd recommend keeping tabs on that MFC page because people tend to post shipping quotes from major Japanese stores like AmiAmi and HobbySearch and you can judge for yourself if those are within your budget.
Note that the unmasked face in Funi's blog is a Kotobukiya Shop limited/exclusive bonus.

Having re-read the post, I now see that they are releasing it in October. Might roll with Crunchyroll anyways, but if not then I can wait.

Thank you thank you, I'm probably just gonna cancel the AmiAmi one (although I kinda want the Anteiku Coffee thing but I am also trying to be more financially responsible…) I can live with not having a limited/exclusive one, so long as I can simply own this one and the one that was just shown at some huge weeb event a couple weeks ago.
