26 eps and above

  • funimation has been releasing to many anime that are just 13 eps I think they should release more anime with 24 eps and up

  • kinda hard to do that when the majority of shows currently being made are only 12-13 episodes long

  • Anime is expensive. In order to make 1-2 episodes of a series, it can cost anime developers 150k-500k+ dollars an episode. Of which, most anime are not successful/profitable. So imagine how much money is needed to develop an entire season of an unproven anime title. It cost millions of dollars to create just ONE anime season.

No matter how many fans a particular anime title has, an anime is not considered "successful" unless the first season was profitable. Unfortunately, most anime titles just weren't successful in their first season, or first airing. This is the reason why 2nd seasons are not created. Lack of funds and/or 1ts season wasn't profitable.

You also have to understand, not all anime that are release were developed for a 2nd season. A lot, and I mean A LOT, of anime titles are nothing more than advertisement for their Manga counterpart. The idea is to create an epic first season. End this first season with a cliffhanger, and hope their newly formed diehard fans will continue with the series by purchasing and reading the Manga, Light Novels, or Novellas.

For the most part, it lack of money that keeps anime series from continuing. There is an anime collaboration that consists of some legendary anime creators decided to fund their newest project using KickStarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1300298569/under-the-dog

What great about the Under the Dog project? It's transparency! These creators are showing their investors and fans just what it takes and how much it cost to develop a well made, single anime episode.

Just for fun, here is a video of one of the most popular anime companies, JC Staff, showing how they develop and create their anime in their home office in Japan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvYxaNVsTWQ

  • If it makes you feel better, TC, three of the shows that FUNimation recently acquired - Assassination Classroom, Yona of the Dawn, and GARO - all have over 20 episodes, with GARO even confirmed for a second season.

  • cool hope they get some 40 and up too also what is a moderator.
