    Genres: action, comedy, romance
Themes: ecchi, fanservice, gender switch, girls with guns, girls with weapons, harem, magical girl, yuri
    Objectionable content: Significant

Synopsis:Waking up transformed into a beautiful girl might be the stuff of some guys' fantasies, but when the suddenly effeminatized Natsuru is informed by a stuffed tiger that he's now a Kampfer, a mystical fighter who has to fight other Kampfers in female form, his life becomes a living nightmare!

Putting aside the obvious "plumbing" issues, Natusru's best childhood friend turns out to swing the other way and SHE has a crush on his new female body. Not complex enough? Natsuru's school has separate sections for boys and girls, so he and she are now double enrolled. The rumor-mill has it that he's dating herself. And there are other Kampfers attending the school who want to take her out, and he's not sure which ones mean "on a date" and which ones mean "permanently." Oh, and did we mention that some Kampfers use swords and gun?! Hormones, fists, and other body parts will fly as the daring, new gender-blender defender must become a contender or die!

    Kampfer OVA: Fur die Liebe

Synopsis: Natsuru used to dream of being a lady killer. Instead, he got turned into a Kempfer - a lady who's supposed to fight and kill other girls in mortal combat! Now he's stuck splitting his/her days between being a typically average Japanese boy and a very untypical Japanese girl. To make matters even more complex, Natsuru's allowed him/herself to be convinced to move in with three other gorgeous Kampfers, who are definitely all woman all of the time, for their "mutual defense."

Of course, the fact that more than one of them may have less than honorable designs upon one or the other of his/her two alternate sexualities couldn't possibly be a problem, could it? Of course it could, and things really get hopping when Natsuru has to take a job at the Bunnygirl Cafe and ends up in the hot box!

  • Ah yes Kampfer. Wish but unlikly to see more were to be made. It wa funny to see the president girl mess with the group.

  • I was surprised that Sentai picked this up. I'm saddened that they didn't dub it.

I would have bought it were it dubbed. Subbed? Not particularly interested (I already saw the sub). I wouldn't mind buying it in the hopes that they learn that they were wrong and release this with a dub but I would prefer that to happen with other shows first.

  • Is there going to be more than 14 episodes?

Is there going to be more than 14 episodes?

    No. :hmm:

  • This one has kinda been in the back of my mind as an interest. For some reason I seem to be drawn to gender-bender titles (Ranma, Kashimashi, etc…). I will watch it eventually at some point. It is available on Hulu after all, but the lack of a dub puts a damper on any interest in owning a physical copy of the series. To this day, Kashimashi was the sole sub-only anime in my collection, then Media Blasters goes back and gives it a new dub 4 years after the original subtitle-only release. Which burned me a bit since I bought that sub-only set about a year before they decided to dub it.

Back on subject, this one interests me and I will watch it one day, I just won't be buying the DVD set unless they improbably decide to dub it or I love it so much that I want to see it again.
