2014 Anime Villains Tournament Round 1, Match 9
Day 2 of the opening round begins…
Starting off we have Lil' Slugger/Shonen Bat from Paranoia Agent vs. Pasder from King of Braves: GaoGaiGar.
You wanna know why Lil' Slugger should win?
Because he's a crazed middle-school kid with a devil-may-care smile who goes around attacking people with a crooked aluminum bat while riding on roller skates.
But that's not all.
See, the scariest thing about Lil' Slugger? He may or may not actually even exist.
People believe in him because Tsukiko told the police that he attacked her, even though this may not even have happened. From then, rumors spread about him, which gave him strength enough to attack more and more people, attacks which became deadlier and deadlier as they went along. He exists simply because people believe he exists, and he gains strength from their fears and paranoia of him. So much so that he actually grows from a kid to a muscle-bound man to a nightmarish inhuman entity capable of destroying an entire city over the course of the show.
Simple flesh and blood villains, they can be explained, understood. Lil' Slugger, however, is nothing but a concept. A theory. A slice of imagination given life by the fears and inadequacies of man.
And THAT, my friends, is what makes him truly frightening.
It's not even a villain
I vote for Slugger.
I'll have to side with Lil' Slugger here since I haven't seen the other show at all.
