Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comic Book Thread!
I know there's already a general TMNT thread, but I thought it would be nice to give the comics their own thread.
Any who come here too talk about both the original Mirage & Current IDW Publishing TMNT comics!
As for me, I think the IDW books keep getting better & better! I loved issue 29 & can't wait for 30! Glad to see well be seeing more of Alopex in the future. Hope Ross Cambell stays on art duties for awhile, he draws the characters in a way that's a nice cartoony but not too cartoony style and his Alopex is adorable.
Also can't wait for Utrom Empire!
But I'm rambling so I digress! Come here and share your thoughts on the current &/or past TMNT comics!
P.S. For those interested you can download digital copies of the series via Comixology or IDWs iOS app. And for Physical copies trades are a available at Amazon, book stores & your local comic shop.
Yeah, the general one just keeps falling further back in the section anyway, what with the insane hiatuses with the current show (and not sure who besides me watches it frequently anyway), and all the news for the live action movie just…being...more and more depressing...yeah... ^_^;
Sadly, I only have followed the IDW comics via a review blog thus far. I have the first issue somewhere and I've read it, but I just haven't had the cash to pick up the trades yet. Everything I've read seems to be awesome stuff so far though, and it's especially cool to see Rocksteady and Bebop back in a less goofy manner.
I understand, being a nerd ain't cheap! XD. But yeah the TMNT comics tie with MLP & Godzilla for my fav IDW titles. coincidently all three have the same Editor, Bobby Curnow, guess he's just really good at his job
If you have access to comoixology I'd recommend using them to catch up as digital versions of the trades might be cheaper.
And yeah, nice to see bebop & rocksteady back in action!
First issue of the Utrom Empire mini came out today. Seems like it's setting up for some pretty big stuff! Glad to see the Fugitoid again.
Issue 30 of TMNT came out today, really enjoying the Northampton arc so far, this issue had a lot of great character moments for all involved, I dunno how they do it but the current writing team of Eastman, Waltz & Curnow just knows how to make a comic that is not only well written & well paced, but one that has very well done & organic characters as a whole, setting the narrative around Mikey's letter to his friend was nice. And on top of that Campbell's Alopex continues to be adorable, glad Raph is finally warming up to her abit, I really hope nothing bad happens to her, I love her character and with all the crap she's been through with the foot, she deserves some peace and quite!
Edit: seriously look at this, I just wanna cuddle the hell outta her. IDW needs to commission Alopex plushies to sell on their site! XD.
Issue 31 came out today, really can't stop getting over how well done this NorthHampton arc is. Also nice to see a Alopex & Raph getting closer . Really hope Alo isn't offed by that crappy BirdcBrained Foot Assassin & his henchmen!
Also The second issue of the Utrom Empire mini came out, Krang is one bad-ass lil alien brain blob I tells yea!
The NorthbHampton Arc wrapped up this week with issue 32" all I can say, ending had it's happy moments & it's sad. Personally I'm sad Alopex decided to stay out there, I understand why she would want to stay in hiding, but yeah, hope she eventually joins the turtles for good someday.
I am so behind on reading up about what's going on in this series via a certain blog, I need to get back to it so that I'll know more about what's going on. The Nick series keeps catching my attention first though.
