You "FUNIPeoples" are Totally "Off the Rails..."

What happened the to the FUNimation forums during my general absence? It seems all you peoples do is rehash same old eternal battles between users. Or complain about why FUNimation is doing x, y or z. Yes, this is seemingly nothing new on it's appearance, but at least there was some logical balance with coherent discussion. Now, over last few months post relaunch, it has just gotten into total /crazymode , and is perhaps upsetting to the otherwise optimistically motivated.

What happen to actually talking about "the anime", such as the Spring 2017 FUNimation lineup? Is it so bad for you, that it is "boring", or something? Clearly, ye peoples have better things to do with your time then eat popcorn and watch "Gohan vs Mr. Spaceman, Battle of the Galaxy" 24/7. Indeed, as to why should "normal, rational humans" even bother with this "Troll Land"? Why should FUNIStaff even be bothered to read their own site?

Does the FUNIPeople here really want to deevolve this place into oblivion, or do ye wish to do something meaningful; and perhaps ironically so, actually "solve" the so called "problems" here? In other words, "Why do we fight?", as such a question, seems so trivial here these days...

As for myself, I have looked into titles when they become free, but so far not impressed, dub or sub. Many of the animes would be watchable if their premise was completely removed.

For instance, "Kado: The Right Answer" would be interesting character show following a Japanese bureaucrat; if not for the completly random, nonsensical alien "first contact" scenario, never ever done b4 of course by Hollywood or otherwise, that always ends up badly. So sad.

Or, "Akashic/Magic Instructor", that mixes midevil civilization with modern-day Japanese High School. Just deleting the premise from this show, may actually be watchable.

"The Last Guardian", because if "Yaoi Endride" of last year wasn't enough for you. Ah, but it has a female in it this time, so must be okay, then. Not cut/paste of all the other "trapped in game" types, nope...

Or, "Worlds End", because apparently humans dont exist or something, but random and annoying fake things do, of course.

    EDIT:

"Clockwork Planet": This one is interesting a bit... finally, a FUNIDUB>SUB; and it featuring a robot u think mes would likey, nevertheless this show's premise is a bit of a strech. Clockworld planet Earth, evil military doing seemingly randomly retarded things, IDK. Not to mention the shear unnecessary "child porn fanservice" just in episode 1 that is has; including frontal nudity, where's Chris Hansen when you need him? A few times, perhaps I could be okay with. But it almost seemed to be pushing it, to get "the demo" to watch. And the whole world-is-clock-thing, IDK...

"Love Tyrant": Drugs help to make this show watchable, I think...

Now, I haven't gotten around to all of them yet, so perhaps there could be a few surprises, I suppose. Indeed, as me is holding out until Summer, I think, in either case. Alas, the few ones I want in Spring are Amazon Strike locked. And, you already know about my stance on the "neverending shonen titles", at present.

But, there still are plenty of other titles this season on FUNimation; with dubs that all came out within last 1-2 weeks, and yet...

"You should be watching?" Not Spring 2017, apparently... Because "whining and bitching" here about random things is more appropriate, it seems. No need to "question" the value-added function of forums; as to why any sane human would want to take part, of course. Just goto Crunchyroll forums for "intellectual anime discussion", ye need not apply here.

    But no matter.

@thegrandalliance 1st of all I not rehashing anything! 2nd I post thing I need to know. 3rd I don't Pay attention to the spring season because quite frankly I just wait for the titles that I want to know that are coming out mostly like thing like Toonami titles etc. I not interested in all the titles that are coming out it the ones I wants. Just particular titles that I want to watch.

  • I don't ever recall actual anime discussion ever being a major thing here on the forums, and Ive been here since they launched their streaming service

    But thanks for stopping by

Thank you for taking those bullets for me.

  • @Nobu

Ahh, yes. Plus I am adding some more to this list via editing the OP as me goes along.

BTW, because seemingly no one else cares to talk about... What do you think of Kancolle Dub? Me thought about watching it in the future, perhaps... but only if ye "Fearless One" does thou acquiesce to such desires, it is so...

  • I don't think there's any good way to execute "Poi!" in English. Otherwise, have at it, if you want.

I caught the first episode of the dub, and I'd rate it a B- / C+, but that's just from the first episode. I'm more a fan of Arpeggio of Blue Steel though, KanColle was ok but nothing that I'd want to buy on Home Video in the first place. So take that as you will.

  • @thegrandalliance Mind you I did not read your whole post as it was long and dull but basically your upset with the current state of the forum and decided to add to the train wreck? If you want it to change wouldn't it be more fruitful to make posts that add value rather then more fuel to the flame war?

Well, perhaps you simply overlooked my /walloftext , as I did just that. Look at the section demarked by the:

I engaged in a discussion regarding Spring 2017; one that I seek to continue to engage at that. Most recently, I watched "Sakura Quest". Not too bad, I suppose... and the dub is good enough too, but not enough to garner full interest in the Spring Season.

    But no matter.

  • "I just see people saying the same things over and over"

    three paragraphs later

"Nothing interests me but next season should be better"

    Well, there's your problem

  • @Riles

Your summarization is not particularly accurate. Winter season was great. And there are some titles for Spring even, like "Granblue Fantasy", or "Sword Orita". Even one I would watch on TAN. The only problem is, they are not on FUNimation.

And, as in the case of Winter when some were, the dubs are bad/subpar. This season's dubs do seem to be a bit improved, however; more so, Japanese subs are filled with "inexperienced VA's" for many titles, so perhaps not as compelling.

So basically, +1CR, +1 Amazon, -1FUNI. But, this season they could care less about the non-shonen, of course, so no matter.

Nor, as in your initial supposition would suggest, am I complaining about "people saying the same thing"; I am stating instead, that it has descended into "trolliness". It isn't about the repetition as you might suggest, as it is regarding the degenerative nature of such thereof. I don't see a general Spring FUNimation discussion anywhere, for instance. Perhaps, an "all anime" one in Anime subforum, but not a Simuldub/FUNI one. Nor much of any show specific topics, at that.

My point is, why should people be reading these forums at present? Not seeing too much of a positive and productive cause at that, in either case...

  • My opinion doesn't hold much weight since I don't spend a lot of time here, but often when I do check in I see a lot of topics regarding complaints of various sorts or general industry topics, but few discussions about the shows.
