Yeah movies are a lot more difficult to get. Due to changes in Production committees, the master license holder could be different from the TV Show etc. Series usually take about a 12-18 months to come out, while movies take almost twice as long Unless it's released in theaters over here (see Girls und Panzer der Film, Ghost in the Shell the New Movie, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale(Which will probably be released on home video by the end of the year))
We have an answer for you guys and really appreciate your patience.
We do not have the Date A Live II director"s cut, which actually adds runtime to the release. This is different from how most Japanese home video (and our releases) work. In most (not all) cases, the runtime is mostly the same, but just certain parts are redrawn.
Essentially there are three versions:
Broadcast version <— this is what we simulcast and what was on Japanese TV
Uncut version <— this is our release. We know that it has redrawn scenes that weren"t in the broadcast version. It features new, uncut footage that differs from the original simulcast version. It is not based on the broadcast materials.
Director"s Cut <—this was Japan"s special longer version for their home video
That is incorrect Sophie What you have is still the broadcast version which aired on A-TX terrestrial broadcast satellite, they for the most part air uncensored TV anime since they don't have to adhere as strictly to standard broadcasting standards since it is is a premium service like HBO here. They often air one or two uncensored TV broadcast each season. Most of the time those uncensored A-TX broadcast are what end up being used in the final home release by companies later minus and retouches or changes made. In the case of Date A Live season one there were more than one DC cuts made, the first one being the initial home release from 2013 which added footage from the TV and terrestrial broadcast version, but then they went back and made another directors cut version for the entire series for season one and not just the first 4 episodes.
Just an update that Sales in Japan for the Mayuri Judgement movie are around 9k+ which is excellent (Around 3k is considered the break even point) so it really is up to the Production Committee as to whether we will get a Season 3
And the movie. The sales for it are pretty good, both with the tickets for the movie at the time and with the blu-rays.
To Clarify on how I think.
