There is one character for Book of Circus that comes back for Book of Atlantic, so that could be a bit confusing if you haven't seen it. Otherwise, I don't think there are any big plot elements that carry over. It has been a while since I read that arc, but it is mostly new stuff.
You never did say what your favorite season was. How did you like book of circus?
That really hard to said? book of circus was ok though I hated the ending! B/c I never like kid getting kill like that it just wrong... I don't think Ciel was right to just said the kids are basically dead anyway... Season 2 though was filler had a cool story to it just again another dumb ending that would go against the end season for the canon... I guess there all good in there own ways...
**Spoiler alert for book of circus. **
See I thought the ending was genius and we see why Sebastian is so obsessed with Ciel. He went directly against the Queens orders and mercilessly disposed of them, although personally I consider it a mercy considering those kids would never have had a decent life, especially considering the time period they live in.
And then to have what Joker and the crew worked so hard for turn out to be all for nothing? It's bleak and it's terrible and I loved it.
@emdier But why should that have been kill for it? And also him going against the queen orders does that not like go against everything he STAND for? And lets not forget what he did to 1 eye girl...
Those kids had lobotomies. There's no fixing that, improving that, they were basically walking zombies the rest of their lives. Considering this is during a time period that was not particularly kind, it may have been for the best although I will never say it is morally right to kill a kid, let alone a group of them.
His trauma and fury at what happened to him is stronger then his loyalty to the queen. Which is why Sebastian was so surprised and pleased at the unexpected turn of events.
Ciel was pretty sick of the entire situation by the time Doll found him, and while it was sad, she was someone that played a part in kidnapping those kids.
Ciel had already said to that it was not his fail early so I don't agree with that. He turn on that b/c of what happen but killing everyone was not the answers... Doll did not kill anyone so it was not right. I fine it funny he did not kill Snake. Snake though did not known what there where doing he did follow them. Snake at 1st was the person I though had took the kids at 1st b/c that make you think that since he was the one hide himself from everyone. And was the one who 1st report Ciel to Joker.
So what should they have done with the kids? They were basically walking vegetables and the Era this show takes place in is not a forgiving one.
Doll kidnapped those children and delivered them to that doctor. That's just as bad as killing them in my books.
He saw usefullness in Snake, and he managed to trick him in to serving him. I'd leave him alive too.
@emdier No it was wrong but she never kill then so she should not have been kill she should have been put in jail... But he may him believe there where still alive... So it may get worst in the long run...
Well I don't know how much choice they really had, she was attacking and it's not like Sebastian will let something happen to Ciel. Sure he could have knocked her out or something but they weren't exactly feeling merciful at the time.
And I think snake will be easy enough to deal with, I can't see him besting Sebastian so they'll use him till he's no use anymore.
It's not like this series is the first to have a staged murder, I assume they didn't think they'd have to hold hands and explain everything, it's Ciel and Sebastian, they're smart enough to explain it all away.
And yes, I know, what I am saying they may have just made her ougliness to fit her anime counterpart. But I dunno for sure, have not read the manga.
Different companies are a completely different ball game. They can likely get away with a lot more then Funimation can get away with from Aniplex.
And who knows, it depends on the contract that they signed for FMA. Although I am willing to bet the chances of getting more FMA are slim regardless (Makes me incredibly sad though :( It's the best series). Not counting the live action, but I would assume Aniplex is not a part of that.
And who knows, I guess you can see how they handle movies by checking out Sword Art Online's film, it should give a good idea.
BTW, for the last time. DIRECTOR. NOT DICTATOR.
@emdier I not really a fan of FMA I think the show overrate if I been real with you... I watch it before on AS and on AS Toonami and I just don't see why it so good? I was just using that as example that Funimation would mostly get the right just like that got the right to this Black Butler Anime Movie...
Technically, I like both, but Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is the one that is my favorite series of all time. And I mean that's cool, everyone likes different things. I do not understand what's good about Dragonball Z, but I do begrudge people who like it.
But anyways, you can't really draw comparisons because they are different series and could have completely different contracts, we don't really know.
Yes I know FMA and FAB are 2 different show. FMA aka the 2003 Anime was a made up ending where the 2006 Series of FMB was the Manga Ending I watch both bro... And I was not into to either... I do thing the Manga Ending though was the better ending of 2... The Guy getting the girl in the end I though was a much better ending then 1 being trap in another timeline. The 2003 Ending I though was dumb and the movie that was basic around the after events of the 2003 Anime was even more screw up... As for then being different show sure there but I SURE if Funimation did it with Black Butler that did it with Fullmetal Alchemist too... As for why Dragonball Z big? B/c well as CM Punk alway used to Because is the BEST IN THE WORLD! AND OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not state you did not know which was which. I was simply clarifying which one I liked better. Brotherhood was, in my opinion, leagues better then the original.
Fullmetal Alchemist Broterhood had everything. An awesome soundtrack, amazing animation, freaking awesome fight choreography, well developed characters, a fascinating and well paced plot, it is just my perfect anime. I understand it's not yours, and that's cool.
I mean, come on, it has the most epic, badass character in history.
And no, I will not be convinced of otherwise, I am a shameless Roy Mustang fangirl (Like, legit the only anime character I've had a crush on, he's freaking awesome) and I will stay that way.
I didn't say I didn't know why Dragonball Z was popular, I just know I don't like it. All I was stating.
As far as the actual question of the thread, I think Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale will be a good indicator of what you can expect as far as credits and translations.
Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale was not even English Dub for the Movie though? As for the most bad ass badass character in history I think not when you got a like Zero from Code Gesss...
Alice in Wonderland shows up a lot in anime. It's rather popular for shows to make their own version.
Ciel is Alice becasue he is the main character. The whole point is for some character revelation as they go through the various point in the Alice story. If Lizzie was Alice, Ciel would not be able to make these revelations.
@korrailli Nunnally is Alice and she not the main character of Code Geass...
Told you, season 2 is complete filler and is completely ignored in season 3 so no. He's not a demon then.
@emdier But why even end it that way if you not it not going happen? That should have come up of a way where he does not be come a demon...
Season 2 came out in 2010, Book of circus came out in 2014. When season 2 was made, they didn't know if they would be able to make any more, so gave it an ending. Same thing that happened with season 1.
The ending is what it is. Not much to be done at this point. Season 2 is widely regarded as a bad season and can be ignored as far as the canon goes.
@emdier I don't think it was bad at all...I like the 2nd Season... The Ending just did not make sense...
Well, I didn't like it. :P I'll be curious to know what you think of Book of Circus.
Season 3 is indeed just 10 episodes, but that is really all the time it needs to tell the story and it not only has one of my favorite conclusions of any anime series (That sounds really, REALLY messed up considering what happens, but it was one of those endings that made me go "Whoa...") and it had a few scenes that were incredibly creative (I LOVE the kidnapping scene. Again, sounds really messed up when I say it like that, but it's just such a great scene).
As to why he was in the suitcase, I honestly don't remember. I'm not sure they ever actually really explain.
@korrailli corrected me, something about his soul being in his ring and being more conveniently carried in a suitcase.
@emdier Well maybe there a Season 4 coming soon since that made a movie now? I not watch Season 3 yet I only on season 2 so don't wanted to know the ending for Season 3...
Book of Murder is sort of season 4. It's the next arc after Book of Circus anyway. It is 2 ova's, so not technically a 'season'. The movie is the arc after. Not sure what they will do with the next arcs in the manga.
Book of Murder the 2 ova are on the stream dub?
I don't think they are available for streaming on Funimation. Not 100% sure though. Don't know about other legal stream sites either, but I kind of doubt it.
@korrailli It Dub though right? I find it if it not available...
It is dubbed. It does have a dvd/blu ray release too.
Cool if not available I have a good to web site I go if thing are not in print or unavailable to watch...
There are 2 movies. The Live Action which has it's own story (takes place in the future with Ciel's descendant), and Book of the Atlantic which is adapted from the manga. The Live Action movie was just released on dvd in North America a few weeks ago. Book of the Atlantic is getting a theater run in June, with a physical release coming later.
I had been hopeful that they would get it, and thought odds were pretty good considering they have gotten all of the series up to this point, but I wasn't sure if things would change considering how much everything with Aniplex shows has changed in the past year or so, and especially with Funimation losing the license to Black Butler.
