Anyhow… Enough about this propaganda... back on topic!
I just watched this movie over the weekend. I must say that it is quickly becoming one of my favorites! It's a bit of a coming of age story for all family members involved. It's certainly a sentimental and heartfelt story. The development of the story and characters quickly draw you in, giving you an attachment to the character up until and beyond the end of the story.
Though short, sweet, and to the point, there were some parts that I wish they would have chosen to explain/develop a little more,... but where it stands right now gives a great balance for the story, leaving me want to know just a little more about the future of the family.
I really like Wolf Children, it centers more around family bonds and conflict compared to Summer Wars, where a somewhat cliché man-made AI is destroying the world and a family/community/world must band together to overcome it. Wolf Children gives a more down-to-earth and realistic feeling to the family story. The movie has many aspects to it which, I think, can only be appreciated after multiple viewings.
