Sora Arrives as Final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter

Must Read

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is finally complete. Nintendo has announced that Sora from the Kingdom Hearts will be joining the fight as the game’s final DLC character!

Sora will be available for purchase at $5.99 via the Challenger Pack 11 on October 18. This includes the playable fighter, as well as the new Hollow Bastion stage and a selection of music tracks from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Those who’ve already purchased the $29.99 Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will automatically get this pack.

Sora’s different costumes are taken straight from his various appearances throughout the series, including the first game, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts III.

His additional color variations are also inspired by his various forms throughout the series too. His Valor and Wisdom Drive forms from Kingdom Hearts II, Ultimate form from Kingdom Hearts III, and even his Timeless River design are available.

Those who have played Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, the franchise’s rhythm game spin-off, on Nintendo Switch, will also receive an additional music track: “Dearly Beloved – Swing Version.”

It was also announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + ReMind are coming to Nintendo Switch as cloud streaming versions. A release date was not revealed for these titles, but they can be purchased separately or all together in the “Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece” collection.

Lastly, Square Enix revealed a new video celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series. There will be merchandise released, such as the chess set that Young Eraqus and Young Xehanort play on in Kingdom Hearts III, as well as a Kingdom Hearts-styled suitcase.

There were also two mobile related announcements. An offline version of Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross] is available for free, where you can view the entire story in its Theater Mode. Additionally, Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road will be releasing in one go, all the way through its ending, this winter.

The first Kingdom Hearts game released on March 28, 2002 for PlayStation 2, and more details about the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event will come at a later date.
