Tokyo Game Show 2021: Monster Hunter Rise, Stranger of Paradise and More

The Tokyo Game Show is over, so we’re here to roundup some of the biggest announcements from the show, including new info on Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy!

First up, Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise would be launching on PC on January 12, 2022, with this version of the game supporting 4K resolution, high-resolution textures and uncapped frame-rates.

The game will also support 21:9 ultra-wide displays and mouse/keyboard configurations.

Next, Koei Tecmo and Gust revealed Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream for PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, set for launch on February 26 ,2022.

The game’s story takes place after the events of the previous entry, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, where Sophie wakes up in a new world called Erde Wiege.

Crossovers more your thing? BANDAI NAMCO announced that Sword Art Online would be making its way into Tales of Arise with the “Sword Art Online Collaboration Pack.” The DLC pack will let players fight against Kirito and Asuna from the popular franchise.

The pack will also include new, themed outfits for Alphen, Shionne and Law.

On the mobile front, SEGA announced its newest RPG, Sin Chronicle, which launches on December 15 in Japan. Sin Chronicle places emphasis on player choice, so at the climax of each chapter, you will decide who lives and who dies.

How about some…CHAOS? Square Enix and Team Ninja confirmed that Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will launch on March 18, 2022 for PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

A second trial version of the game was released, and it available from now until October 11 on PS5 and XSX.

Square Enix also announced that Dragon Quest X Offline will launch in Japan on February 26, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

Officially titled Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes, it’s an offline version of the MMO. A new DLC expansion called Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally will release in Spring 2022.

No Western release for the game has been announced, and the original never launched outside of Japan.
