Calling all JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fans! A special event stream released a boatload of details for the upcoming anime adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean, including main staff and cast details, release date, a new visual, and a full trailer giving us our first look at the series in color and motion!

Featured in the trailer is Mutsumi Tamura (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) as Ermes Costello, Mariya Ise (The Promised Neverland) as F.F, Atsumi Tanezaki (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-) as Emporio Alniño, Yuichiro Umehara (SSSS.DYNAZENON) as Weather Forecast, and Daisuke Namikawa (Haikyu!!) as Narciso Anastasia.

And, of course, Daisuke Ono (Attack on Titan) will be returning to play Jotaru Kujo.

Taking on the role of his daughter and the Joestar mantle is Ai Fairouz (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) as Jolyne Cujoh, a rebellious teen and the first female “JoJo.”

On the staff side, David Production will continue to animate the series with a big reunion of main staff members.

Kenichi Suzuki (chief director for Parts 1-3) will be taking the chief director’s chair alongside Toshiyuki Kato as director (chief director for Part 4) and Yasuko Kobayashi (Parts 1-5) on series composition.

Also joining the main staff is Masanori Shino (Black Lagoon) series as character designer, Shunichi Ishimoto (Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe) as Stand designer, and Yugo Kanno (Parts 4-5) as music composer.

It was also announced that the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean would premiere exclusively on Netflix worldwide this December, with an additional TV broadcast beginning in Japan in January 2022.

In the stream, Fairouz, wearing a butterfly brooch and a star-shaped earring, talks about how she got her start in voice acting, how much the character of Jolyne has influenced her life and what being cast as Jolyne means to her.

She is also joined by her fellow main cast members and chief director Kenichi Suzuki to discuss the making of the anime (especially how much yelling is required).

First published in 1999, Stone Ocean is the sixth installment in the decades-long JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series by Hirohiko Araki. The story continues on from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind, jumping ahead 10 years to Florida, where Jolyne has been imprisoned for a crime she didn’t commit.
