Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Announced, Rush Duel Confirmed for Western Release

Ready for more card-battling action? Konami has officially announced Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, the latest video game entry in the long-running franchise, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), iOS and Android! Phew.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel will utilize the Master Rules of the official trading card game, and it’s also the first in the game series to officially support 4K! Get ready for those monsters to look crystal clear.

Konami’s Kenichi Kataoka confirmed that players will be able to experience the card game via visuals and sound effects that bring the cards to life. He also recommended that new players start out with the already-released Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, though Master Duel will include a tutorial for new players.

Instead of a more character-focused narrative from entries like Duel Links or Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, Master Duel will focus on the official trading card game aspect, not unlike other digital card battlers.

Kataoka also confirmed that there would be competitive and casual tournaments offered in the game, with potential for an official event at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship.

No release date has been confirmed for Master Duel, but Konami did confirm that Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Saikyo Battle Royale!! will release in Japan in August on Nintendo Switch, and later this year in the West.
