The official website for Akihito Tsukushi’s critically acclaimed series revealed on Wednesday that the anime’s highly anticipated second season, entitled Made in Abyss: The Sun Blazes Upon the Golden City, will air in 2022.

Made in Abyss Season 2

In case that news wasn’t exciting enough for fans of the series, Spike Chunsoft announced they would be releasing an all-new 3D action RPG titled Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam.

The publisher will be releasing the game in North America, with Numskull Games releasing a physical version in Europe.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will let fans relive the events of the anime’s first season through the story mode, as well as experience an original story overseen by Tsukushi himself. The game will be fully voiced by the English and Japanese cast from the anime.

The game’s official site includes a brief, mysterious teaser for fans:

“The world’s sole remaining, unconquered chasm, the Abyss, is the stage where many adventures are born…and disappear.

“Those who appear in these stories are mesmerized by the power of the Abyss and aim for the bottom of the netherworld.
