Life-Sized Levi Joins Attack on Titan Statues in Creator’s Hometown

Must Read

He watches over Paradis Island with ruthlessness and a love for cleaning, but now Captain Levi Ackerman joins his fellow troops in protecting the hometown of Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama in statue form!

The Levi statue was originally scheduled to be unveiled last summer, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, nothing, whether a virus or a Titan, can stop Levi, and the statue was unveiled in front of JR Hita Station in Hita City, Oita prefecture on March 6.

We better hope that the statue stays pristine clean, or else we will all suffer the consequences.

The statue’s design is based on an original drawing from Isayama himself, who commended the unveiling, citing Levi as the most popular character in the series.

“I owe him a huge debt of gratitude,” he said. “I hope he’s pleased.”

The Levi bronze statue joins Eren, Mikasa and Armin statues located at Oyama Dam, drawing comparisons to when the trio watched in horror as Titans broke into the Shiganshina District and changed their worlds forever.

Fittingly, Levi is watching over the entrance to the city at the train station—will Erwin’s statue follow? The statues were the result of a crowdfunding campaign by local volunteers, who raised over 29 million yen.

While the characters of Attack on Titan are immortalized in bronze, the anime version of Eren, Mikasa, Armin and Levi continue to appear in new episodes of Attack on Titan Final Season!
