Along with an intense new key visual and an action-packed preview released on Thursday, it was announced that Aimer would be performing the opening theme for Fire Force Season 2, titled “SPARK-AGAIN”! Less than a week later, the series official Japanese Twitter account confirmed that Cidergirl would be performing the ending theme.

With intense, fan-favorite themes like “Inferno” and “MAYDAY” coming from the first season, Aimer and Cidergirl are artists that can surely match the high expectations and unique musical flavor of Fire Force openings and endings!

Aimer

When she was 15, Aimer used her vocal chords so much that she needed to undergo silence therapy. That helped her develop a unique, husky sound, which she’s used to her advantage since debuting professionally in 2011.

A regular in the anime music space over the past few years, Aimer has performed opening and ending themes for series like Bleach, No.6 and Vinland Saga.

Aimer’s haunting vocals matched perfectly with the heavy and seemingly hopeless topics tackled in Terror in Resonance. Titled “Dareka Umiwo,” the ending theme’s lyrics talk about looking for guidance while feeling lost and broken.

One of Aimer’s most popular contributions to the anime music scene, “Brave Shine” served as the second opening theme for Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works].

Aimer has also performed the themes for the last two films in the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy: “I beg you,” the theme for Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] II. lost butterfly, and “Haru wa Yuku,” the theme for the upcoming Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] III. spring song.

Cidergirl

Hitting the stage in 2014, Cidergirl is a three-person, pop-rock group that’s relatively new in the anime world.

The band members never reveal their true identities unless they’re at live events, so they hire models or actors as the faces of the group. They represent Cidergirl in music videos and promotional photos.

A perfect example of the group’s bubbly sound, “We Look Like Zombies” is a fun, upbeat track that you can’t help but tap your foot to. Adding a colorful music video to the mix just makes the track even more enjoyable!

Used as the ending theme for the second season of 7 Seeds, “Synchro” is a slower song that still maintains the group’s bright sound.

Matching the apocalyptic themes of the show, the lyrics express a hopefulness to be with the person you love, even if the world ends tomorrow or everything was just a dream.
