We love going to the movies. Seriously. Name a better experience than getting your closest friends together to pack a theater on opening night as you experience all of the feels with the crowd around you.
We know that’s a bit tough right now. So, we’re teaming up with pioneers of virtual cinema to bring the theatrical experience home to you! Get ready to watch some of the most iconic, popular and classic anime films, live in virtual reality with Funimation and Bigscreen!
Funimation anime in virtual reality will be the perfect way to relive some of your favorite movie experiences. And yes, you will cry (in the case of Your Name.).
Hop into a virtual lobby and chat with other attendees, pick up some digital popcorn and candy and take your seats in a sprawling virtual theater, where you can sit back, relax and watch the film on a huge screen!
All titles will remain available for video-on-demand sessions after their limited run, as well!

We’ve teamed up with our amazing partners at AnimeLab and MangaUK to bring an incredible slate of anime to Bigscreen. Each title will have four events, including subbed and dubbed times, as well as post-launch VOD options. Take a look at what’s coming!

What virtual reality headsets does Bigscreen support?
You can download Bigscreen and join in on the live theatrical fun with Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift S, Oculus Go, Valve Index and HTC VIVE, as well as SteamVR and Windows Mixed Reality Headsets.
PlayStation VR support is planned for later this year.
What’s the cost of admission?
Pricing varies by country. Tickets for the U.S. are listed below.
For classic catalog films, a ticket will cost $3.99, more recent anime releases will run $5.99, and brand new release films will be $14.99.
Bigscreen is a pioneer in the virtual reality theater space, and allows you to share the room and screen with multiple people — all you need is a supported virtual reality headset. There are even scheduled cinema sessions that emulate the IRL theater-going experience.
