Aniplex has revealed two new promotional videos for the upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba video games for PlayStation 4 and mobile platforms, including a trailer for the console game!
The trailers, per Anime News Network, were revealed during a livestream event on Japanese streaming service AbemaTV.
The trailer for the PS4 game, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Keppūtan, offers fans a first look at how the anime’s stylish animation is making the leap to video games. The game is described as “demon killing competitive action” and will allow players to play as Tanjiro. It is developed by CyberConnect2 (Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy).
The trailer for the smartphone game, whose title translates as Demon Slayer: Blood-Stench Battle Royale, shows Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke and others squaring off in Super Smash Bros.-esque 1 v. 1 gameplay as well as what looks like original animation for the game.
The official website for both games says releases are happening as previously scheduled in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
Aniplex also confirmed during this livestream that there will be a physical release in Japan this July for the Kimetsu no Yaiba: Special Event ~Kimetsu no Utege~, a stage reading event where the anime’s voice cast recited an original story.
