michelle_kollaboration“Bittersweet” is certainly the most fitting description for today’s announcement: we say goodbye to one member of our team and hello to another.

Our Social Media Manager, Michelle Lee, is moving on to pursue other opportunities. She played a hugely integral role on the social team for the last few years and while we are definitely sad to see her go, we are incredibly excited about her next step in life. Many of you, whether you follow the blog avidly or not, will recognize Michelle’s name and work. From conventions, to planning, to videos, to fan feedback, to killer one-liners and so much more, she rocked it all.

Thank you for everything, Michelle!

Now, you may have noticed a new name on the FUNimation blog over the last few days: Godswill Ugwa. We are thrilled to introduce Godswill as our newest Social Media Coordinator!  He’ll be joining Lauren and me to help bring you announcements, contests, feedback and more! Please join us in welcoming him!

Godswill is no stranger to anime and geek culture. When he’s not dancing, playing video games, fighting, or doing his master’s program at UT Dallas, he’s over at FUNimation doing his best to craft some witty quips for the social media pages. As an undergraduate at UT Dallas, he founded the ANIM3 Club and created the school’s first convention, Comet-Con, which just finished its third run. His top anime right now are One Piece (BTW his favorite character is Franky which he cosplayed as), Gurren Lagann, and Hunter x Hunter.
