Re: Witch Blade General Discussion

Have you watched any of Witchblade? If you have, you wouldn't have made such a flip and inaccurate post. True, ther's an overabundance of fan service in the series, but to toss it off as a "vampire" series is ignorance.

The Witchblade has been passed down from woman to woman for generations untold. It is even rumored that Joan of Arc once wielded the Witchblade. No matter who the mysterious artifact was attracted to, two things were certain-they would be fighting the most unspeakable evil and the Witchblade would use them up!

From continent to continent the Witchblade repeated resurfaced, travelling from Europe to America  and finally claiming its next... bearer, user,  victim?  She is a Japanese woman named Masane Amaha. An unemployed, homeless single mother, she finds herself drawn into a series of battles with hideous combat machines run amok. While the confrontations with the renegades are profitable for Masane, they begin to take a toll on her... and she also starts to fear the Witchblade doesn't just have designs on her...

Now does that sound like a "fan service filled vampire anime" to you?

What are you talking about? I have no clue what show you are pertaining to with that comment.

Witchblade was a solid B anime. It did what it set out to do well. Maybe with a more solid story it would have held up better for me. The character development for the protagonist and a few of the main cast is done okay but that really seems to be it as far as development goes. The action is great and for the characters that do get more detail in the story it is an interesting watch but not something I would go out of my way to recommend. If you are interested in this concept and do not mind reading go pick up the American comic, it is a far better product.

I have seen the first 5 episodes I think, and from what I have seen, I thought it was pretty good. I should try to watch the rest of it here at the beta site.

I enjoyed this series quite a bit after I dropped my expectations of it being all out action. It is actually a lot more story driven with some action peppered in. By the end of the season you really care about the main characters quite a bit.

Just finished watching it myself, and I found it pretty good. The ending though was...a little unsatisfying. It would have benefited from an additional two episodes to make the ending make a little more sense.

Re: Witch Blade General Discussion

I enjoyed this show quite a bit. Then again I haven't read the comics so I do no know how it stacks up compared to them.

@Gyt Kaliba have to agree that the ending seemed a little rushed. And would have preferred it to end all rainbows and unicorns but I like happy endings. yell

I watched some of this in dubbed but I prefer the subbed. There is just something about her voice in the Witchblade form that is hot.

@Wonder is correct it isn't an all out action show. There is quite a bit of story to go along with it, although the pace picks up as it goes along.
