Re: Vandread Series Discussion (Possible Spoilers)
Hello,
I just started watching Vandread on NetFlix live stream. Unfortunately this means I can't watch it in Japanese with English subtitles, which I prefer. Netflix always streams the dubbed version if it's available, and there are no options to change the audio/subtitle settings.
This is becoming a problem for me with Vandread because the English voice acting for the male protagonist, Hibiki Tokai, makes his character all the more annoying.
I can see some good things in this series. The presence of the usual Anime Male Idiot is bad enough; this one's grating English voice is just a pain to endure.
I'm wondering what the Japanese voice acting is like. I've learned through experience that characters like Hibiki Tokai, are easier to take when they're speaking Japanese. I don't know what that's so, it just is in my case.
Can anyone who has the subbed version of the DVD comment on the Japanese voice acting? What's your take on the fool Hibiki? Is his voice in Japanese as thoroughly irritating as it is in English?
Thanks for your time,

Re: Vandread Series Discussion (Possible Spoilers)
I just finished watching the series. I have to say it was a pretty good anime series; chances of a 3rd season seem low. I agree that the male protagonist voice was at times rather annoying. I wonder when the dubbed versions of the OVA's are going to be released.
Re: Vandread Series Discussion (Possible Spoilers)
Because they didn't bother dubbing them for their inclusion in the "Ultimate Collection"; they're not going to waste time and money going back at this late stage.

I completely forgot about the OVA's, i only watched the series itself. Are they any good?
Do you wanna explain why you are saying "never"
Because they didn't bother dubbing them for their inclusion in the "Ultimate Collection"; they're not going to waste time and money going back at this late stage.
It's rather self-explanatory, really.

I don't know what part of saying "never" is actually self-explanatory, anyways thanks for informing me.
