Indeed - I'm getting close to wanting to give up on taking the legal, pay-the-rights-holders approach, because there seems to be no interest at all in responding to paying customers saying "HEY WE CAN'T WATCH THE DAMN VIDEOS".
And since the main, if not the only, point of this place is to be able to watch videos, can anyone at funimation.com be even BOTHERED to, y'know, acknowledge there's an issue, or should we all give up paying you and go back to torrenting and streaming from non-pay sites that, y'know, WORK?
No?
This is exactly how I feel as well. How can Funimation expect us to pay for something we can have better for free? I can't believe no one from Funimation has responded to this, this is a huge issue. Funimation has had plenty of issues since I joined, but at the very least, I was always able to watch the videos. Funimation should refund us for this, but I know they won't.
Re: Subscription Player black screen in Chrome, IE, and Firefox
Sigh, I guess I'll have to do this manually.

I'm using Chrome and receive the same message but if I wait a few seconds the player will load.

Give it another shot, I believe they resolved this problem, if you receive the message wait a few seconds for the player to load. Or perhaps I have just been lucky.
Re: Subscription Player black screen in Chrome, IE, and Firefox
No, I'm still having the Flash Player problem in all three browsers, as of midnight last night. And yes, I've cleared my freaking cache, before anyone bothers to suggest that useless bit of advice.
Seriously, either someone says SOMETHING about what's going on, or I'm just going to cancel my sub and go back to watching the shows on the free sites, regretful that I have to do that because the one legal pay site doesn't give a crap whether their service works or not, or whether they communicate to the paying customers AT ALL (12 days now since I posted the thread about the Flash Player issue, and not a single company response has been posted to the tech forum on ANY thread in those 12 days). Seriously, folks, you're making Microsoft look like customer service geniuses.
Re: Subscription Player black screen in Chrome, IE, and Firefox
Here is what I did which seemed to resolve my issue:
Virus (spyware) scan
Updated Windows
Cleared my temporary files
Registry clean up
Defragmented my drive
These, as well as some improvements on FUNimation's end of things I'm sure, helped to resolve my problem. Loading times are still a mess but I am now able to watch videos here again. My Norton helped me with all but the Windows update. The item I think helped me the most was the registry clean up, I had about eight broken registries.
Speaking of Norton, if you use Chrome and the Norton Identity Protection extension is enabled it sometimes causes issues. I was unable to use my G+ stream while it was enabled, once I disabled it the stream worked fine. Around the same time I disabled the Norton Identity Protection extension I was once again able to watch videos here on FUNimation. This may have been a coincidence since I had already done the other things I have listed here but it definitely was interfering with G+.
Re: Subscription Player black screen in Chrome, IE, and Firefox
i believe it may be a memory issue. clearing cache and disabling extensions may mean that. plus i haven't yet had a problem with site since i put 24 gigs of ram in my machine. only time will tell tho. also IE uses alot off memory and it's usually the first browser people had trouble with.

I worked in internet support for years and have never had a single occasion where the problem came down to the Windows Firewall (other than needing an exception added or enabled). It's just not that sophisticated. What browser and flash player do you use with Xubuntu?
Yeah, I was just throwing ideas out there, It seems like some people have been solving their issues with different methods, so i find this issue to be troubling.
On my Xubuntu I use firefox 15, with shockwave flash 11.2 r202. I usually keep my machine pretty up-to-date on both the windows and Xubuntu partitions. I also have Adblock+, scriptish and ghostery addons so i don't thing those are the problem.
Re: Subscription Player black screen in Chrome, IE, and Firefox
Whenever I have ran into this problem (or the "must install Flash" one) if I run CCleaner, it solves my problem. But I've been told you can possibly screw some things up if you don't know what your doing with it, so fair warning.

if scriptish is similar to Noscript and also ghostery could definitely have something to do with it. I know Noscript caused the player not to work with Firefox for me.

As of today, I am able to watch videos again. I didn't do anything on my end, so the website must be improving. Hopefully it keeps working.

24 GB of ram? That's quite excessive.
