Excessive Break-up on HD streams (Plus a new problem...)

I wasn't exactly sure if this is a technical issue, but... I honestly don't know where else to put this. I recently got the trial membership to see how things would be and... from the preview videos, it seemed as if the 720p HD encodes (and to some degree, 480p) were breaking up. However, I thought it was simply because these were samples, however upon obtaining a membership and viewing other videos, this was not the case. The video seems to break up into blocking (and sorta becomes like what one could describe "watercolors", I'm not exactly sure of the technical term) along with some mosquito noise. However, with scenes where there isn't a lot of motion and is rather stationary, the videos seem fine.

I'm just wondering if these are due to low bitrate of the encodes, or if it is related to my own connection (where bandwidth is adjusted to your connection speed). If you guys need some additional information from me, I'll be willing to provide it.

EDIT: I just encountered another problem. I recently updated my flash to the latest build for both Internet Explorer and Firefox just to test something, and apparently the video player button is... now no longer showing up. Atleast in Firefox. However, this seems to only effect (affect?) the Elite Membership player, as opposed to the normal video player available on the free side. So not sure if something broke in the recent update or what...

Re: Excessive Break-up on HD streams (Plus a new problem...)

The video player has an adaptive bitrate. It changes depending on your connection. If you let the video buffer for a while, it should be all smooth. This is also the case on Southparkstudios.com in case you were wondering if other players do this.

The second issue was resolved at 6:00 a.m. central time.

I'm going to close this thread. If you still have the second issue or find new ones, please create a new thread.

Thank you for reporting.
