I'm doing an updated version of this thread, as we have more information now regarding some users experiencing a blank subscription player.
- - -
What IS This Issue: EVS users seeing a blank player, with the FUNimation.com logo and the show logo, but no play button. In Firefox, this may also result in a message that says "ERROR Time-out trying to establish a connection to the server".
What Is NOT This Issue: Any issues with the free or Hulu players. Any actual error messages on the player, such as a territory or age related message, other than the one listed above.
- - -
Current Information and Workarounds:
Anything that causes your computer to not be able to fully communicate with our servers can cause this error. That means anything that blocks cookies, scripts, caching, IP, etc. You may try to troubleshoot this issue yourself, if you wish, or we can provide more personalized troubleshooting at .
These are the most common causes of a blank player:
1) Do Not Track - Turning off Do Not Track is simple, but varies according to your browser. Virus protection software (such as AVG) may also have this option.
2) There is a conflict with Hamachi VPN. If you happen to be running this software, please disable it while you are on FUNimation.com.
3) There is an add-on called NoScript that can cause these issues. Please disable it while you are on funimation.com.
4) Cookie and Pop-Up Blockers - Anything that prevents cookies or pop-ups could potentially cause issues with the subscription player.
- - -
We will also be able to provide you with links to the appropriate websites to perform these functions, if needed-- just please let us know your browser and operating system, as well as any virus protection you're using at
I'm also happy to provide support through this thread, of course, but you will get a resolution much, much faster through webmaster. Thanks!

It has been weeks and nothing is any better, Not to seem rude but you guys are totally Horrible at running you're own site.
I have followed Every Step you have given, and it simply hasn't made a difference .
I'm giving you Dolts until the 15th-20th then I am unsubscribing my membership and will not be returning.
They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.
Can you mail us at , please? It sounds like we'll probably need to do some more in-depth troubleshooting with you than we're really able to provide on the forums.
Thanks!

This is what I keep getting. I can't play anything.
Ksrichm0486 - That's consistent with this issue. Have you tried the steps listed above?
If you have, and you're still getting the issue, or if you need any assistance with those steps, please contact .
AT least some are getting a blank screen. I am getting page unavilable from my web browser when I log in with my paid subscription but if I use this dummy log in I get on the web site. This has been going on for a month. If you cannot fix the problem then stop charging my account. subscription log in is bebobalhan.
I'm sorry, but as much as I would love to continue a subscription here, I just don't feel like jumping through hoops and disabling my computer security just to stream a video on Funimation.com. You guys really need to take a good look at your website and decide if your current business model of blaming your customers software choices or configurations, that work with other major streaming services, for the flaws in your site coding. Please do us all a favor and stop using us, your PAYING customers, as beta testers.
@agbat - looks like we're taking care of you on e-mail.
@dubfanatic - Well, the site technically *is* still in beta.
Not that that means we don't try to provide as quality service as we can, of course, but some bugs are to be expected.
Disabling Do Not Track doesn't actually affect the security of your machine, as following a DNT request is purely optional on the part of any sites you visit. Things like NoScript as well can be made to white-list funimation.com, allowing you to still be protected on other sites, or can easily be disabled from the add-on itself when you want to watch anime. White-listing will work for most cookie and pop-up blockers as well.
Also, we're not blaming anyone's software choices-- merely letting people know that these are the things they can do to get the subscription working. They're called "workarounds" and not "solutions" for a reason, after all. We're aware that these things are issues, and are working to resolve them for future updates.
In the meantime, I think most people would like to do some basic troubleshooting and get to watch their anime!
i disabled my pop up blocker and some parts of site started working again. Everything else has been working. Maybe if some of your site didn't function like a pop up...that would be my basic input on the matter. Of course there were alot of sites that used to function like popups back in the day before the adds got out of hand and probably hacked into their sites. Pop ups are never safe and not generally accepted now so i see no reason that a site can't funtion without them. Course what you do is up to you but people don't want to go in and disable generally accepted computing methods.
spoke too soon. as soon as i turn something off and it works it's temporary. are you sure you aren't a victim of denial of service attacks or something? that would be another of my clueless guesses i bet.
@yojumy - Please send us an e-mail with your issue to .
We can't provide any step-by-step, personalized assistance on the forum, but we can help you there.
