It's been listed on Amazon, and according to Shawne Kleckner it seems to be real. Personally, I'll wait till it's listed on Rightstuf before pre-ordering it.
Even if the 1st season was animated in SD, I look forward to any sort of upgrade. It'll be a good excuse to rewatch the first season again, too! I hope S2 comes out on BD as well, simultaneous release or not.

Just finished watching this on Netflix. Excessive fanservice, but I enjoyed it. It was cute and funny with some decent fighting. I liked all the girls varied personalities and that they each basically had an episode that focused on them.
That July re-release has been changed to just DVD, but Adam Sheehan said at the Anime Boston "State of the Industry Panel" that they will be releasing it on BD later:
Except for Perrine. And the episode she got in S2 (ep. 9) was the worst episode of both seasons, imho ;_;
Aw don't hate on Perrine.
Looking forward to that Blu-Ray when it finally materializes. Would be nice if there was an art box in Strike Witches' future too.

The delay to the BD is likely related to the recent BD box re-release in Japan.
Signature? What signature?
Nah, I love Perrine. She's in my top 3 from the TV anime...I even have her dakimakura! It's because of that that the episode especially disappointed me. Well, the stuff with the heirloom sword and rebuilding the bridge was pretty good.
I'm glad that Funi started it's new "premium" initiative before releasing S2. It'll be especially nice if the S2 art box is designed to hold S1 as well.
@ einhorn303: I'm hoping for that season 2 box that fits season 1 as well. And I'm glad you're not a Perrine hater. I've seen a few around so I'm kinda defensive about her. (Maybe they're Mio/Minna shippers?)
I haven't seen season 2 myself due to waiting for the release over here and the English dub. I wish Funimation would hurry up with it. I'd kinda like to see it. (And review it!)

Er, one thing that really kind of bugs me... Why after all of the DVD releases say this is a TV-14 show do they ALL say it's a TV-MA show now? Unless you're saying it's unsuitable for young audiences, which I don't believe is the case, then I don't see why it jumped its rating so high so quickly unless there's something later on in the series that I'm unaware of. Having only seen the first season, I have no idea what's to come, but I tend to doubt it's anything THAT explicit to cause this much of an uproar.
Funimation is just playing it safe. I mean, it really ought to be TV-MA with the uncensored version included on the DVD and Blu-ray, right?

Er, seriously... what do they NEED to censor? I've seen the show and there IS nothing to censor. The show did that pretty well on its own. Unless you're a real perv, there's nothing that NEEDS to be censored. I've seen the fansub and nothing there was indecent so their irrational panicking is ridiculous. Why they even thought they needed TWO versions of the same show is silly.
This isn't like Cat Girl Cuties where they were deliberately being ridiculous with the nudity... this was fantasy silliness. Anyone who took this seriously really needed to get their head examined. It was a magical girl/alternative history fantasy show and it was NOT meant to be taken seriously. Jeez.
the rules for rating series is not the context but the act of having topless girls in the series gets TVMA.
Besides it is not like it is Hentai and rated X. if a young person wants to get his hands on strike witches they can. and also it could have been adjusted because Season 2 does show topless.
