This forum needs a favorite character thread; you can list as many as you want. For me:
Sanya V. Litvyak: I just really adore her, she's just the type you want to look out for. She plays the piano too, and I'm really appealed to that.
Mio Sakamoto: I love her warrior mentality. But while she's strict and disciplinary, she always shows it with love. She also has the best laugh ever!
Gertrud Barkhorn: Gotta love Trude! I'm just appealed to tsunderes, and she's about as tsundere as it gets in this show. On a side note, she and Erica are also hilarious together 
Erica Hartmann: Silly, carefree and adorable, but still badass
Gertrud Barkhorn: Super-strength + dual-wielding MG 131 machineguns = ultra-badass

My top three favorites from the TV anime are also the three characters I have dakimakura of:

In order:
1. Gertrud Barkhorn - I really like this sort of strict, disciplinarian character archetype. Plus she's both incredibly moe and incredibly badass.
2. Lynette Bishop - She's perfect wife material, and her friendship/yuri pairing with Yoshika is too cute.
3. Perrine H. Clostermann - Some might find her too tsundere, but it's just right for me.
Outside the TV anime, I also really like:
Helma Lennartz - Like Barkhorn, except in cute loli form. It's like moe evolution.
Charlotte (the tank witch, not Yeager) - I liked her before, but Witches of the Sphinx Vol. 3 has made me fall in love with her. "Right now...I feel as if...Nothing could stop me!...I feel like I could advance...all the way to the Suez Canal!"

Lynette and Sanya are my favorite witches.

1. Gertrude "Trude" Barkhorn by leaps and bounds, the shear badassery of dual-wielding those massive MG's cannot be met by any other character in the show, not to mention her whole, *Need those massive I-Beams that probably weigh 2-3 tons removed from the front of the hanger? Sure no prob, let me just toss them aside for you so we can go kick some butt."
2. Charlotte "Shirley" Yeager due to her obsession with speed and tuning her Striker Unit to the max, not to mention she was pretty funny sometimes and I always like funny. I also found it funny that she's the one with the Bunny Ears, when I first saw them pop up I just thought I should have seen that coming lol.
I'm also gunna give a shout out to some characters outside the anime, the 3 Patton's Girl's members Patricia, Marilyn and Abigail. They don't really pop up much and we don't know much about them, but when they do pop up they show off their stereotypical Liberian/American personalities! It's Rock'N Roll time!!!! The Tally-Ho line also got me good lol. I was just waiting for one of them to say LIBERION F YA! They just seem to be having a great time dropping the Neuroi!

Charlotte "Shirley" Yeager - Two words: Jamie Marchi. Plus she uses a P-51.
My favorite has to be lynette; and my favorite duo is Elia and Sagna; I love the relationship between these two. I also LIke Hartman a lot; I wish she was featured more in the episodes though.

My favorite Strike Witch is Francesca Lucchini I find her... fiestyness (if you will) adorable and attractive.
Also for some reason over the past year i've developed an appreciation for annoying characters, am I a bad person for liking characters because they P.O. their friends? lol.
