I wouldn't say it is the best show of spring and that it might be the best show of summer either. I haven't seen a summer show yet and there hasn't been enough episodes of a summer show to gauge how good this can be next to any of them.
I like this show though. It didn't capture me right away. It took about 4 episodes for me to gain an interest, but somewhere around 5 or 6 to really get into it. It is definitely one of the more interesting spring anime and a bit complex, but I'm glad that I decided to take a chance on it.
I am loving this show so much. I'm really getting back into sci-fi (just finally started watching Star Trek: The Original Series) and this show is such a good example of the genre.
In light of Funi picking this show up I feel like this picture that a found on /a/ is appropriate. BTW s**t has been hitting the fan these last few episodes.
That's a good question. They might have to pay extra for simulcast/streaming rights, so it might not be. I don't see why they can't make a show page for it at least though. Seems silly to wait until there's more information on the US release.
This series for me has been the best so far that I have seen in a long time. The only thing that I think that could compare in my mind would possibly be Nichjou or Natsume Yujincho (although they are completely different genres and therefore both great in their own way.) This is the first series in a long time that hasn't felt like the "sci fi" was just tacked on to a typical anime story, but was in fact the story, almost as if watching it equates to reading an involved hard science fiction novel by Iain Banks, Vernor Vinge, or Alastair Reynolds. The writers have done a good job of keeping the science in the story (whereas the future cannot be changed by going to the past, only that a new tangent worldline can be created from the point in the past. Either that or Okabe is hopping already established woldlines in the multiverse if you want to look at it another way.) This scientific/sci-fi approach is immanently more desirable to me than "there is an ancient power a boy was born with" or some other usual trope found in a lot of anime. I have had such a good time trying to figure out just what in the world is actually going on, and who is actually going to cause what in the future.

John Titor's identity was a good surprise, I figured that he had been sent back from the future by Okabe, but I wasn't sure who it actually was. I wonder if it was (her) who killed Kirusu in timeline A before Okabe first moved to a tangent timeline.
If you notice Suzuha has been in the show since episode one, you see her on the roof of the conference building with a hat on, I noticed that on my first time doing a re-watch.... this show really lends itself well to that.
I also wonder about Moeka and her motivations.
Spoiler: Highlight to view
She obviously works for sern, but it almost seems like she is being forced to "for FB" I wonder who or what that is. She seems to have to work herself up to doing anything, it's almost as if she really cares for Okabe seeing as how she has now called him "Okabe-kun" a couple of times when reporting in and had to correct herself.
Kirusu also has me puzzled
Spoiler: Highlight to view
She seems like she is on "our" side, but Suzuha sure doesn't seem to think so. Seeing how Suzuha is from the future I would tend to believe what she says, and the only conclusion I can come to is that Kirusu's father now works for sern and this will cause her to eventually betray the group.
I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on what is going on (that is unless you have read the VN then I don't want to know) so speculation only please.

Well, I've watched episode one and I must admit it has caught my attention. It seems like an interesting series. I do plan on catching up though, after reading all these comments.
I love this series. It immediately caught my attention the minute I saw the synopsis and preview on Crunchyroll. Needless to say, I've been watching it ever since. It's definitely one of the best anime I've ever seen. It keeps you hooked on the story and makes you want to come back for more. The Spring season was just fantastic, and so far, the Summer season is looking even more amazing. I'm really excited to learn that FUNimation got this series. I honestly didn't expect it to be picked up so quickly, but I'm happy it was. It'll definitely be a welcome addition to my anime DVD collection. I've always been a fan of visual novel-based anime, and I've also always been fascinated by the concept of time travel. It's definitely on my all-time favorite list. I'm really looking forward to future episodes, as well as the promotion it will hopefully receive in the American market.

I'm gonna go get me an Okabe avatar now.

You are a terrible person.
Word. I'm loving it so far. Episode 13 was amazing.
So when is Steins;Gate getting its own show page? And will it be simulcasted/streamed here as well?
