Season 2 is out on DVD/Blue Ray now. FULL official release was PRECISELY on Sunday, June 19, 2011 10:05:26 PM of the sub and dub variations. so yes even tho its going slowly to make these steps to another season, its still getting there. just calm yourselves. and there's some pix popping up ALL over Google of pictures w/ characters FROM S&W that we don't even know. so what dose this say is happening? ether a hint of the SLOW production of another season. OR, what some one said a bit back on this chat, that there going to make it take place a few years into the future. and what i have to say to that you all should CHECK Google images! yes there are SOME photo-shop pictures. BUT including the same character in several different pictures (the one we don't even know about, possible form a new season OR a novel) AND having the S&W title on ever picture (the translucent title that's always in Japanese that is printed on EVERY S&W product) ...... To make it shorter what I'm trying to say out of detail

if some one is hating for that cliff hanging ending at the end of season 2 then just calm down.. . i just hope that S&W doesn't end up like Kingdom Hearts, completely shut down from the main series and still a WTF moment at the end, like"Is that it?" (or Lord Of The Rings endings, same kind of effect)

You have put some serious though into that, except reverse where I was finding reasons why they wouldn't. I hope there is a season 3, but not to far in the future.
I'm reading the volume 1 novel and it is going in identical order to episodes, only with more depth into the story, especially on the individual thoughts of Holo and Lawrence.
So Season 3, if they make one, will most likely take place in Volumes 5 and 6 of the novel.
Edit: What I mean in exact order is that, 6 episodes of the anime covers about 1 volume of the novel (the novel is the original story, it came before the anime and manga).
Season 1 - Episodes 1-6 = Volume 1
Season 1 - Episodes 7-12 = Volume 2
Season 2 - Episodes 1-6 = Volume 3
Season 2 - Episodes 7-12 = Volume 4
So if that pattern is followed for a Season 3, well, I'm sure you got the picture.
yes i do. yet the next season should be being made or calculated for the price and length by now. or some time at least after S2 is individually released for sale world wide. or id expect the plan to be complete near the end of July or August. . .

to think of it they need to hery the hell up and end OnePeace Its TOOOOO long! same with bleach, bleach is awesome but it'll get boring if to long (as such). then there's FairyTail, it should deserve to get another good 50 or so EPs put into it, it SHOULD end sooner then the others. FUNi puts too much effort into animes that might not even have a good enough viewer amount. yes OnePeace has a great amount of viewers but it should be down to just a couple 10s of thousands (10,000 snds). and idk if FUNi made Naruto but same for Naruto, it should end.
ok what im saying is that if they ended some of these REDICULESLY LONG animes that could be more consentrated on animes that need the funding like cliff hangers such as S&W and Hellsing Unlimited (or Ultra or Ultimate. idk)
*back on track* the anime S&W should be getting planed by now. yes, production dosnt come RIGHT after the planing, it might take a few months or even a year or 2. then theirs subbing by the pros that made S&W at FUNi... if the Fan Based subers doesn't get to the leaks from japan first... at the very least we should be seeing a new season pop up out of the F***ING water out of NO WHERE! here in about half to a minimum of 1 to ONE 1/2 of possibly maximum 2 years possibly 3 if things don't go well to problems that might pop up out of no where along the way.
at the very least im saying S3 should be getting on its way. the gears are turning
Well, Funimation is just a company that dubs and sales in North America, and probably sells to the UK too.
Kadokawa Pictures runs the development of Spice and Wolf with the rest of the production committee.
If they were going to start S3 at all, it would have been right after Funimation bought a license for S2.
The license is the only money the S&W Production Committee get at all for foreign sales.
So once Funimation bought the license, that's all the NA/UK money that Japan would see out of Spice and Wolf, same goes with the Yen Press licenses for the Manga and Novel.
Now, they could wait to see how NA/UK sales do, because this is not the end of the journey. They could wait to see how sales/interest peak in the outside countries. This would cause a higher price for a license. So they could just be waiting to see how much they could get for a S3 license from a foreign company such as Funimation.
Okay apparently on the schedule list, S&W should be able be viewed free and dubed by July-22-2011, or something like that. idk if this was the right room to post this in. but some people might wonder when the S2 will be free and dubed to watch here. can some 1 confirm it? the scheduled choice on the Video tab at the VERY top.
