I saw reading at ANN today that Funi had announced their elite subscription service starting in Oct with commercial free HD video and a large library of titles. I searched all over the front page and did a search for it but I can't see where to sign up. Am I missing something?

I believe that was just an announcement that it is coming. I don't think an official start date has been given yet. It's only the first day of October, I'm sure they'll have it soon.
May be wait until Monday and more people are in the office?

From what I have heard from Adam, it should be arriving in early this month! Besides that, I am basically at the same angle as you guys.
I hope they have an annual subscription. if not I will only subscribe when they post someing I want to see. Also the FUNi subscription costs more then "The Anime Network's" subscription and I thought that costs alot. I can't pay for Funi, Anime Networks, and Crunchyroll subscriptions and buy dvd's. I might be forced to only buy dvd's, I already let my Crunchyroll subscription end.

Is this "Elite Membership" for US residents only? I'm tired of paying 10€/month for an US VPN only to preview some series or access the forums.
Well I'm sure I'll be signing up when it becomes available. The way I look at it is If I'm willing to pay ~$120 per month for cable on which I only watch college football, hockey, and some science/history channel stuff, then CR ($7)+TAN ($7) +Funi($8) for a total of $22 is well worth the money to get most of my anime fix filled. I actually probably watch more online anime (all legally) in a week than I do cable TV in total for the same week.
