Dubbed Episodes Expiring

I know some episodes have an expiry date on them (Black Butler for example...) and I was just wondering why. I went to watch some today and they weren't there. Also, when a video is taken down like this, does it ever come back?

Funimation doesn't put the episodes online permanently, the episodes will be back though sometime later this year.

The reason why the episodes are taken down is because FUNimation wants to buy their DVD/BR, so they can make more profits.

The free streaming is treated like a television network showing a series. It doesn't stay on the air forever and part of the reason it is there is to get you to buy something (in this case the DVDs/Blu-Rays.) Shows come back into circulation though and in the mean time, consider checking out series you haven't watched yet!

Who knows, you might find an unexpected new favorite! smile

D'oh. Kanon was on literally for ages. I finally get around to watching it this weekend and now it's gone? Are they freakin' psychic? Arrrgh.

They take them down because (well here's my theory) they want to give you a taste of the anime and then go and buy it
