With this series being close to a month until release (I know things could change) I am actually surprised that there hasn't been any more threads on this series. I know its been a while since I first seen it, but I thought it was a pretty decent series.
@Richard J. Definitely agree with you on the Twilight bit. Don't plan on watching them either lol. While Vampire Hunter D was my first vampire anime ages ago I still find that I enjoy alot of the newer series as well.
This is definitely one I can't wait to see again with a Funi cast behind its helm.

Yeah, vampires have really changed through pop culture and crap. That one series Vampire Knight was really a load of crap too; it's kind of like Japan's version of Twilight you could say. My friend loves Dracula and is always critical of vampire series. The only vampire series she likes are Shiki and Hellsing because they portray vampires well. I haven't seen Hellsing since my friend says it's so gory but one vampire series I like is Moon Phase. I do agree with her on her points though.

Definitely the type of things you start getting when over saturation of a particular subject gets out of control. I had gotten that vibe about Vampire Knight after watching a trailer for it lol. I do love how Funi did pick up all the ones I do like. Dance in the Vampire Bund, Rosario + Vampire and Moon Phase are some of my favorite Funi titles. (Insert advertisement )
I will agree with the similar shows they have listed along with Shiki. The titles Ghost Hunt and Higurashi: When They Cry had me scratching my head and wanting more just as much as Shiki did. When this title comes out I highly recommend it.
I agree that both Dance in the Vampire Bund, Rosario + Vampire provided a lot of enjoyment. Of course I would love to see another season of R+V but that will never happen.
Now as for Shiki I'll be looking forward to watching Part 2 once it releases.
I agree with you about R+V, although I would rather they reboot the series entirely. I would have also liked to see another season of Dance in the Vampire Bund, but I think that most of those companies grab onto manga titles before they've had the chance to mature a little. I have been watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood lately and im loving it more so than the first series that aired. I wish more studios would see their errors and stick to the manga.
Just got vol. 1 in a couple days ago and expect vol. 2 to be here by Tuesday. So far I think they did a really good job casting this series after the first 8 episodes. Definately has given me a renewed love for this series. I'm still rather shocked that this board isn't very talkative considering that this is a pretty decent series.

Shiki is a very good series and it actually lives up to the positive talk!
Unlike some other so called "amazing shows" that I thought were underwhelming or overrated
I watched episodes 1-4 the day they were uploaded for EVS and marathoned episodes 5-12 the day those episodes were uploaded too.
I look forward to watching the rest of the episodes; hopefully Funimation uploads them soon
I really like the dub cast.
David Wald is one of my favorite male anime voice actors (check out his ADV/Sentai stuff if you haven't) so I'm glad to see he's joined the Funimation talent pool and got to voice some great roles (Toshio in Shiki, Gajeel in Fairy Tail).
John Burgmeier was also very well cast as Seishin
Ian Sinclair sounds like he's having a lot of fun voicing Tatsumi.
Todd Haberkorn's unique voice is fitting as Masao.
Lydia Mackay sounds very sexy as Chizuru.
I'm also really liking Chris Burnett as Toru; could possibly be my favorite role of his that I've heard so far.
I've also enjoyed hearing Tia Ballard, Jerry Jewell, Luci Christian, Linda Young, Alison Viktorin and Jamie Marchi in their roles too.
This a massive cast and I'm glad to see some less-used VAs involved in addition to some of my favorite veterans.
I fully agree, Funi does an excellent job filling roles. Masao was definitely one of those characters that had me thinking Todd Haberkorn before I watched the dub.
