They haven't announced that they have started work on Shana II.
They have at last dubbing Hellsing and that won't be out till sometime next year.

I think the fact Funi has SnS listed in their shows is a good sign..

I'd totally buy S1-S3 if Funimation ever decides to release them in Blu-Ray or at all.

Last Post from a Moderator.

Just to point out:

ANIMAX released IT'S dub of Season II since 2008.

I know that GENEON used Animax from time to time to release their Dubs
(i.e. CardCaptor Sakura)

Animax has SINCE released many animes that have no DUB release here in the U.S.
(Hayate the Combat Butler Seasons I and II (currently working on the Movie)
(Shana Season II , currently working on III)
These were the few that stuck out to me.

Anyways.
the 2010 release of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works was taken from FUNimation.
(Well, they waited too long.)
This makes me believe that it isn't getting a hold of the material that's a problem
there's probably something MORE keeping them from releasing SHana or Index.

(I have a hunch that they'll lose out on Fate/Zero as well.)

I might get a Moderator's attention sooner or later to prove me wrong, but
you have to admit- Shakugan no SHana Season II was released in 2007. This
is 2012. 5 Years ago, people. At this point this series isn't NEW.

Although, if they ever finally DO release Shana, I hope they consider releasing Index
simultaneously considering we've been waiting so long.

As an added bonus, perhaps they can go back to license the HP LoveCraft Mecha Series "Demonbane"
while they're at it. That was 2007 also, wasn't it?
Maybe since it's so old, they'll get a Discount Price................

Re: About Funimation releasing Shakugan no Shana

It's incredibly rare for a dub to be released for an anime while it's still considered 'new.' The term new kinda wears off in like 2-3 months.

Dubs and localization are done for people who want them. It isn't a race with the original releases in Japan. It doesn't make a difference how old the series is, the only thing that matters is if they are going to release it or not. They could wait 10 more years to release Shana II and it won't make any difference because the people who want it will still go out and get it.

Just because something isn't new doesn't mean that people won't buy it. Look at DBZ, for instance. There is no rush.

Maybe, but there are a lot of fans who are keep getting inpatient. Waiting with the release is not the best idea because more and more people will just go with the Japanese version and order it from Japan (it is actually pretty cheap compared to other animes there).
