Season 2 Of Sekirei

Sekirei Season 2 Pure Engagement is licensed to be dubbed correct?

I've heard many rumors its supposed to be and done a little research myself but i wanted to get a comformation on that. So if any viewers have any answers that would be great, i check the forum daily and I'm a huge fan and am quit impressed with the show. I would also like to know when it might be out on Netflix.

Thank you fellow viewers, Funimation and Aniplex.
-Tyler

Re: Season 2 Of Sekirei

The answer to your question is that Funimation has licensed Sekirei: Pure Engagement for home release. This means that Funimation is planning to release the series and they dub all of their releases. So, yes, when the physical release comes out, it will have an English dub.

Also I've deleted your duplicate thread. Please be careful about duplicate posts and threads! We want you to post more and enjoy your time here but duplicates just clutter things up. You're too cool for clutter. cool

Re: Season 2 Of Sekirei

Thank you. I was starting to believe no one knew the real answer. This makes me very anxious to watch the next season. It's an excellent show between the romance, action, and comedy it evens out to be a high potential show. I was reviewing the manga and it seems as though it is more spaced out oppose to the anime. But none the less it remains an outstanding show!

I thank you for cleaning the clutter I must have accidentally clicked "save" twice. There's no doubt i'll be posting more on this forum, and maybe others. So thank you i'll be more careful for my next post! cool

PS: It may not be my business but I'm curious as to if you work with FUNimation or your just very intelligent about these things?

I do not work for Funimation. I'm volunteering as a Moderator but I'm not paid for it or anything. I try to keep up with the licensing status for different series and I'm fairly sure Pure Engagement is licensed for home release.

I can't find anything to actually cite to though. Let me check with Sophie (she does work for Funimation) to get a CLEAR answer on the license.

Though I do believe Funimation will be releasing Pure Engagement. The first season set seems to have sold well and Sekirei gets a fair bit of fan chatter.

Oh well your doing a great job, I would pay people if I worked at Funimation, this kind of thing can be time consuming. I wouldn't doubt Pure Engagement being dubbed by this point.

Wow that would be great. Send me a post or message when/if you find out. I'd love to hear more. As far as season 3 goes I hear its most likely going to be made, so if you get any word on it can you possibly share the detail's in the future? smile

Wow you know someone who works at Funimation? Lucky! But yes, if you find out anything please tell us! I'm anxious to see when PE is going to be released on DVD.

I don't know Sophie personally (I must get to a con one day just to shake her hand and thank her for giving me a chance to be a Mod) but she's been very helpful and nice to me. She's great about answering fan questions. Right now she's super busy with coventions but hopefully she'll have time to check in this week.

Given Sekirei is one of the few series I've seen in a brick and mortar store lately, the distro sell-out and generally the number of fans who are here talking about the series, I'd be extremely shocked if the second season wasn't released by Funimation. It just feel like a "we'll be announcing that as soon as the ink on the contracts is dry" kind of license.

Of course, I'm biased. Sekirei really charmed me. I'm a fan of harem and ecchi in general but this series really has a heart to it.

Re: Season 2 Of Sekirei

I just finished watching Season 1 on Netflix and now plan to buy the DVD (or Blu-Ray if it's available). Like a lot of people posting here, I really liked it.

The only cons I had with the series were the usual anime cliches: high school boys who panic at the mere hint of even remote contact with a girl, nosebleeds to indicate excitement, distorted figures to represent extreme emotions (like that high school panic thing; that really gets old).

The pros were multiple. It's just a really great series, especially when it comes to character development. In fact, how they managed to cram that much character development into only 12 episodes and still tell a good story is the main reason I think this is a fantastic series.

I see that season 2 is starting to show up online as dubbed streams. I think that means a DVD release is imminent, but I haven't been seriously into anime long enough to know how these things work.

Even if Funimation sits on season 2, I'll be able to grab the streamed episodes someday.

Have a good one,

Those are probably Animax dubs. For some odd reason a number of English dubs are produced by Animax that are rarely if ever heard in North America or Europe, where you'd expect the majority of the English-speaking consumers to be. I don't know enough about how that licensing works to know if those streams are legal or not but I'd bet on the latter.

FYI, I got a reply from Sophie that clarified the license status. Unfortunately, I can't actually flat out say what that status is. I was pleased by what I read though.

Re: Season 2 Of Sekirei

We didn't get Season 1 dubbed until 2 years later, So that's my time frame I predict some time in the second half of 2012 for Season 2 dubbed.
