I can't stand this suspense of waiting to see the third season I swear it better come out because I don't think i could handle it if the story just stopped there!!!! Is there a petition to sign to get their asses moving on the third season, if not can someone more internet savvy than me start one and tell me where it it ... btw how bad ass would it be to have a sekirei!!!!!!
Hopefully it gets announced soon. Does anyone know how good or bad the second season did in japan? That usually gives us an idea of if or when a series will be made.

Do you really think the studios care about what the viewers outside of Japan want?
I can't think of any series in recent memory that was brought back by the results of a petition. Always willing to be proven wrong though!
I want a third season as well as any of you (I think we need some answers and closure), but the reality is this. The studios watch the sales in japan on the native releases. If the sales did well, then there is a good chance of a continuation of the series. Remember, these anime are produced for their domestic market. Foriegn sales thru license agreements come second.
I beleive that there will be a season 3, but probably not until late next year. This is based on various bits and snippets I've run across on fan and news sites.
If you're serious about writing campaigns letters have more effort since they're harder to ignore than an email or link that posts signatures (for which all you know could be some of the same people with different accounts).
$$$ talks so if you haven't bought the anime then do it!
Someone else mentioned it but Sekirei season 2 really screwed up with the everything after Homura's winging.
I hope the studio makes a movie or at least some OVAs to repair the damage of the Uzume arc which IMO was the best part of the manga
A pilot episode for the third season was mentioned in the final OVA in season 2, the episode being called "Quiet Premonition." Plus, as people have already stated, due to the success of the previous two seasons, it is highly unlikely that they will not make a third season. I am, myself, unrealistically excited for the third season as I cannot buy the manga in the UK and I want to know where the storyline is going to go. As you'll know, the Sekirei Plan has 4 stages, two of which were Animated in the first and second season so there will be a third and possibly fourth season slated for release in late 2012 to summer 2013 (the third season) so be patient and ride it out. if you can read japanese then consider buying the manga from Amazon.com or even Ebay.com to find out what happens + if you think about it, it will take a while to dub it into english for us so that'll probably add a couple of month onto the release dates. I really hope it's sooner then later. Subbed is just fine with me as I prefer Japanese VA over US.
