Does anyone know about season 3? I am truly an Rosario+Vampire fan and addict! 
and extremely sad it has taken them this long without making another season

No confirmed results for a season 3 as of yet, but we *MIGHT* hear word of it within the next couple months, maybe. Until then just read the manga. It is MUCH farther and is much better.
I've already started reading the manga, and from what I gather and hear from others who have read it all and are keeping up with it, that the manga in the anime are noticibly different. Plus the fact that season 1 and 2 in the manga series have like 50 chapters a piece, so I deffinetly think there is enough story to make a next season, if they decide to do so, or maybe they are waiting to finish season 2 in the manga (seeing as how its still on going) to finish before starting or even thinking about a 3rd season for the anime.
According to the current rumor mill, people believe that Gonzo might possibly make an announcement sometime this year.
Who really knows though, its all rumors and speculation. There is a rather strong American fan base for Rosario + Vampire. Hopefully this indicates to Gonzo that people are waiting for more of the anime.
Not many anime follow the manga, since they only plan for a limited run season (or two).
The biggest problem with Rosario I find is that the studio was very selective to choose mostly "fun" chapters. The manga is actually quite dark in terms of story line. Not very many good times for Tsukune.

Even if there is a storing fan base they might not. Have you seen the fan base for Spice and Wolf? The anime was based off of light novels and followed it pretty well save skipping one of the volumes. There were only 2 seasons but enough material to make a total of 7 I believe. Everyone is still hoping for that as well. That's all anyone has.

Tsukune has had such a terrible time after meeting everyone, but he's so powerful right now. Can't wait for Chapter 53.
I loved the show and I am really hoping they do a 3rd season of R+V.... from what I have gathered GONZO did massive budget cuts and lost a lot of personnel and 4 projects so obviously that puts a huge strain on them as to what to do next and you may only have 10-15 people working on one project if not a few more so it really hurt them but i am keeping my fingers crossed for a new season soon. I also saw that KENICHI OVA has been released. Maybe thisll be a good year for anime

What people have not said is that Gonzo is in fact picking up again and Rosario has become more and more popular in the Americas. I don't see how they can prolong the release of a new season with so many desperate viewers and untold stories in the anime. I personally believe they will continue the anime, and if they don't they will realize the amount of money they could of made if they did.
