First off, I'd like to say hi I actually joined this to post about a few of my favorite animes because, a lot of people are signing pentions to bring back some of my favorite animes such as Shuffle,Elven Lied, and of course CAPU 3! as well as a few others. Now, another quick thing before I start this thread.. My name keolamation was made up for my own anime/animations back in 2007 so, it's unrelated but, simular to FUNimation now, the reason I even mentioned that was because, I can say I've made animations some with 10k+ views on newgrounds AND youtube. Now, the reason I make animations which is different from FUNimationthey most just market i.E. they just translate and do sales in another country for Gonzo etc, for a "buy out" of marketing rights or, a % of revenue from US sales and TV viewership. So, "making" an animation series or movie is a totally different process now, for a solo animator or, small animation business you have to make animation for the joy of doing it and the hopes of getting ad revenue/donations but, when you are like GONZO, Kotokawa, GENCO, or any of the other big anime companies is money. Plain and simple. It costs around 140-150k Per episode in USD now, after 10 episodes they get reduced Distribution Costs so, for 12 episodes it'll cost the average company a cool 1.5 million dollars to make the standard 12 episode season. Now, some companies will invest more is they are VERY confident it'll sell well like, Soul Eater did Something VERY rare and was approved for around 51 episodes which, isn't very common So, even though Soul Eater was very successful if it wasn't that would of been about 5.8 million down the drain! Now, to my main point about CAPU and the lot of them. If they spent 1.5 million dollars (it's about the same for every anime made) then they'd want to make 3-4.5 million dollars "at least" in order to want to make another season. The first season did very well, however, because of changes in writers and, the fact the actual manga writer hadn't made enough mangas for a season 2 when they made season they had to go off what the manga writer told them we their plan so, basically the writter gave the writers their "notes" for the series and they went off that. Sadly, The manga went in a pretty different direction then what was originally planned. Making the anime a lot different then the manga So, Gonzo at least "when I talked to them about" Said, the only real idea that was about was to make a "reboot" of the series that would have to be a lot closer to manga Or, A season 3 that would slowely work it way back to be flush with the manga "would take roughly 3-5 episodes and would appose the risk of making the anime seem random, or the changes wouldn't flow hence, making the story line for those few episodes seem very shitty, maybe even contridicting to prior season 2 episodes." So, it would create a HIGH RISK of loosing even more japanese fans/viewers which would be all the bread and butter, because US revenue gets split with the marketing company such as FUNimation, sometimes 50/50 So, if in the US CAPU 3 or something like, HOTD (highschool of the dead) grosses 5 million dollars after marketing cuts from Tv or netflix then, after Funimation takes it's share Gonzo is stuck with maybe 2 million Not enough to make a 3rd season.. Also, many companies want to make that 5million in Japan because, 1, they will get more profit then from the US and 2, because they are a japanese company that wants JAPANESE people to buy it That would be like, a US movie production to make like "John Carter' for example in the US it flunked but, in Russia and, the Ukraine it acutally made profit from those 2 countries yet, it's still to see that from the US, So, even though they could make a John Carter 2 it's highly unlikely because, it's a US company thats trying to appeal to a US Audiance So, unless they planned on making the movie shot in Russian FOR Russians. don't expect a sequal.. -.- Same for CaPU 3 a.k.a. Rosario + Vampire. Heck, if I could give 1.5million dollars to gonzo, and tell them "make season 3 of Capu and another Elven Lied season!!" I would.. sadly, I'm not that rich.. "yet" lol So, if your still reading. "I applaud you if you are." The best thing you can do instead of making petitions is rather buy the DVD's/products or, instead of posting stupid pentitions "no offence" which, consist of a few k "if your lucky" of actual viewer revenue from networks. Now, if you did a pentition with 100k signature at least if not a lot more.. then you could get the attention of GONZO it would be a smarter idea to do a fan based kickstart so, go on a website and try to get 1.5 million in donations then, give it to gonzo with the single purpose of a 3rd season/reboot of CAPU then there would be 100% chance GONZO would make a new season because, they would be at 0% money risk and then only thing they'd have to spend is man hours. So, if you want another season of CAPU "because it doesn't look like another season is coming out soon' then the answer is simple create a kickstart/donation goal instead of a pention. Which, I think would be 100 times cooler! Then, it would be a animation made for the people BY the people! Which, would be a first! In it's own way! Also, if you'd be interested in actually making a kickstart to give to GONZO under contract then say so, maybe we can get 1.5mil! lol
