Here's how the RP Forum will work.
While in Closed Beta, we will be doing Single Thread Games only. If there is enough interest, we'll open this board up to Subforum Games once the site fully launches. Guidelines for such games will also be posted at that time.
Single Thread Games
Single Thread Games come in two flavors - Story and Battle.
Story: Games have a storyline that needs a set number of characters. Players are characters in the story. When the game is done, a user should be able to read the thread as if it were a novel.
Battle: Games where players fight and use logic to write someone into taking a hit that they can't logically or realistically avoid.
How to Play
All games will need one Out of Character (OOC) thread and one In Character (IC) thread. The OOC thread is used for player discussion outside of the game. The IC thread is used for the actual game. The original poster acts as GM (Game Master) and guides the game to completion. Optionally, the original poster may also create an interest thread (IN) to see if others want to play.
It is up to the GM to decide how detailed the players should be with their posts. GMs should also post links in the IN thread to their game's OOC and IC threads once they have been created.
For Battle Games, the GM is free to create the rules governing the battle, but should make sure those rules are reasonable otherwise no one will want to play.
Game Rules
All regular forum rules apply, of course. What is not ok out there is also not ok here. As for actual game rules, it's really up to the GM how the game goes. As long as the game guidelines set forth in How to Play are followed, the sky's the limit really.
Our system is loosely based on the one used at the Roleplayers Guild Forum.
Have fun!

Just a suggestion, but can we make only one thread? It has worked out well enough in the past, where people put their characters as the thread goes on (though I can see after a while finding the post again would be a pain).
And a second thing is the OOC thread, which we usually only use parentheses to discuss things. Such an example:
This is just for clarification, considering we rarely ever made two threads for the same roleplay.

You need the two threads to have a better distinction between the game thread and the conversation thread. It may have worked well in the past on the old forum, but it was a nightmare for the mods to read through.

Ok, I shall keep that in mind next time I decide to create a roleplay.
But don't be surpirsed if we still use the "( )" thing for small stuff, it's sort of a habit now.

I am going to start making OOC threads for all the RPs in the next few days, unless the RP starters want to do it them selves, and then once a OOC thread is established for the current running RP, out of character conversation posts found within the current running RPs will be edited, or removed.
