I can now finally say "Yes!" when people ask, "Are you going to stream One Piece episodes?" That's a big resounding "Yes!!!" And we'll even go beyond expectations of just uploading our English dubbed episodes.  We will be 'simulcasting' new episodes just one hour after they air in Japan with free, professionally-produced, accurately translated subtitles.  Read the complete press release for all the details.

Currently available for FREE at www.OnePieceOfficial.com:

Episodes 1 - 2 (Sub and Dub)

Episode 391 (Sub)

New subtitled episodes (Beginning with episode 403) starting Saturday, May 30th @ 9:00 p.m. CDT.  Stay tuned for more information on upcoming schedules.

On a side note, check out the new FUNimation Logo Animation at the beginning of One Piece episode 391.  Tell us what you think of it.  Do you dig?

Oh yeah! And I got a sample of new Tony Tony Chopper Hats.  I'll be letting you know where they'll be available soon.  Check back later.  I might have a nice video of one posted. wink

Is there something significantly different about the FUNi animated logo? Looked about the same, except maybe flashes away brighter?

Been a while since I last watched One Piece since it's been removed from Cartoon Network. I think I miss Luffy's laugh from the 4Kids dub... Need to get the DVDs eventually...

@br33n,
FUNimation® Entertainment manages a full spectrum of rights for anime series acquired from producers in Japan. These rights include broadcasting, licensing, production, home video sales and distribution, as well as internet. The rights agreed upon may vary per series or per region and are always subject to change. If you are receiving this message, FUNimation cannot currently transmit video to your area.

@almarco & Paul,
We don't always have the option to stream HD for various reasons. It is possible that this may change in the future.

The One Piece videos aren't available to view in the UK, which is really weird because everything on the video portal is. Oh well...

Out of curiosity, how will the release schedule for the older episodes be? This isn't quite made clear on the press release, but I'd assume these will be on Thursdays.

Also, I made note of an error on episode 391 on the forums, so let me repost that here, since it is somewhat of a big issue. I realize that you guys do read the comments on the forums, but I figure posting here wouldn't hurt either:

"On episode 391 of One Piece up on the One Piece website, there's an error that occurs about 8:47. There is a sudden pause in the video, breaks up, and seems to actually skip ahead about a second or two (maybe more). It doesn't cause the audio to desync, but the audio definately skips here when it occurs. After this, the episode subtitles eventually starts to lose sync about 10 minutes into the episodes and by the end, it's gradually about a second out of sync. Maybe more.

Hopefully you guys can look into this and fix it. "

It's good to see that One Piece will be streamed like this. Good news for anime fans.

From the 391 I'm a bit disappointed, it wasn't 720P quality. I wonder, have FUNi thought about a pay option in order to offer higher quality? One Piece just isn't One Piece without the HD quality.

....F-first comment? What? ANYWAY, YEY! I love One Piece and what y'all have done with it, this is great for me to get back into it smile I mostly stuck to the manga with 4Kids being 4Kids and having a SJ subscription for the last seven years or so. I'm not sure the whole series is on my to buy list, with how long it is, but at least certain DVDs....

As much as I love long shonen series, getting anything with more then 50-60 episodes beyond DBZ, Kyou Kara Maou, and Yu Yu Hakusho is something I plan on only owning only so much because of cost. Even with the deals you guys do.
