Flower Mound, TX – January 18, 2012 – FUNimation Entertainment announced today that it has acquired the broadcast, home video, merchandising, mobile and streaming rights to the anime series, High School DxD. The anime is based on the Japanese light novel series by Ichiei Ishibumi. FUNimation plans to release the series on DVD and Blu-ray. FUNimation will simulcast the series on Mondays at 4pm CT.
Series synopsis:
Issei Hyodo is your average perverted high school student whose one wish in life is to have his own harem, but he’s got to be one of the unluckiest guys around. He goes on his first date with a girl only to get brutally attacked and killed when it turns out the girl is really a vicious fallen angel. To top it all off, he’s later reincarnated as a devil by his gorgeous senpai who tells him that she is also a devil and now his master! One thing’s for sure, his peaceful days are over. In a battle between devils and angels, who will win?

I have to say that my English has improved ten fold after taking these practical steps into consideration. It's always a good idea to practice on a daily basis... even if it means learning/reading only 10 minutes a day. I'm now confident to apply for my mba online which is fully English spoken. Hope I'm going to do fine.

People who beg for dubs makes the baby jesus cry. Seriously, this anime is 4 episodes in and you're whining for the English cast already? Why ruin good dialogue with the English translation, seriously?
Well that's a shame. Seems like I'll be sticking to the fansubs since the fansubs are uncensored. Those bat D's are annoying when you know the anime is being shown on TV uncensored. I had hopes FUNimation would show the uncensored show, but I guess that was asking too much.
Awesome, definitely happy about this. Now if FUNi could grab Ano Natsu de Matteru, I'll be even happier!

I get that you have to pick up what sells, but seriously, there are lots of great anime out there to be licensed that aren't pure ecchi that are interesting, have great animation and will sell.
I've been a bit disappointed with some of funi's acquisitions recently; in particular these over the top ecchi ones that just make me cringe from the sheer stupidity of it.

Yeppers, I know i cant wait for the dubs. Seems like lately there really hasnt been any new dubs coming out as of late cause of all the change over to blurays. Which i hope they keep pushing them out on blurays. wish they bring out some more good animes or some follow ups to some of the animes i like so far. Getting a little tough to keep up with all the bluerays coming out so far. Be nice if there was a funi check list or something. lol Anywho keep pushing dub blurays out funi and ill keep buying.
