FUNimation: Coast 2 Coast

As written by Josh: What a busy weekend for me! I have to literally be in two places at once, on opposite sides of the country! I had no choice but to bring Adam Sheehan out of retirement and deputize Rojas to head up our operations at Anime Boston, while I lead a small team through Sakura Con, along with some pals from FUNimation Channel. Let's go to the breakdown of what we'll see at these two shows.

To start, let's go over what you can get at both shows! We'll have the same goodies at both booths, including the opportunity to pick up Eden of the East: The King of Eden and Sgt. Frog Season Two before their release date!

Then we have a great selection of gift with purchases here:

Evangelion 2.22 Sticker – Free at Booth
Evangelion 2.22 Window Cling – With purchase of Evaneglion 1.11 and/or Evangelion 2.22
Eden of the East Keychain – With any purchase

Here is a schedule of some of the great FUNimation sponsored events at Anime Boston:

FRIDAY, APRIL 22nd

Baka and Test English Dub Convention Premiere - 3 PM, Hynes-Video 311 - When a fight breaks out at Fumizuki Academy, nobody throws a single punch. Instead, the students utilize the school’s technology to summon Avatars, pint-sized stand-ins with battle powers based on academic ability. That “academic ability” part is bad news for Yoshii – because Yoshii’s an idiot, stuck in lowly Class F with the slackers. If these misfits want to escape their dump of a classroom and earn some respect, they’ll have to fight their way up the ranks and take on Class A, the Academy’s brightest students. It’s going to be tough, that’s for sure. But once the underachievers of Class F get motivated, they don’t give up – and Yoshii can’t even spell surrender!

FUNimation.com Presents - 4 PM, Panel 202 - Beta.FUNimation.com just opened to the public this month and to celebrate this FUNimation Entertainment is bringing some of the excitement the site has to off to Anime Boston. This panel will include audience participation, questions about anime, creative thinking and debate, possibly a little theatrics, cats, the internets, and prizes for all who attend. Even more who join in on the fun. ^_^

Shoot the Hostage! - 6 PM, Workshop 313 - This is a workshop about a part of the anime industry you may not be fully aware of-- marketing the launch of an anime DVD. Come take part in some of the crazier parts of what it takes to bring anime DVD's to your local store shelves.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23rd

FUNimation Sneak Peek - 12 PM, Panel 302/304 - Not sure what anime to pick up next? Come by and check out some of the newest anime titles from FUNimation Entertainment. We will be showing different clips from some of our newest shows.

FUNimation Industry Panel - 4 PM, Panel A - FUNimation Entertainment's Marketing Manager Adam Sheehan and Social Media Manager Justin Rojas will be on hand to talk about all the newest info and updates out of North America's leader in anime as well as answer questions throughout the panel.

We'll also have some meetup events & giveaways happening that we'll coordinate via Facebook and Twitter, so keep an eye on our respective pages: Facebook.com/FUNimation and Twitter.com/FUNimation

FRIDAY, APRIL 22nd

FUNimation Industry Panel - 3 PM, Room 611-612 - FUNimation Entertainment's Events and Conventions Manager Joshua Morris and Marketing Coordinator Joel Rodriguez will be on hand to talk about all the newest info and updates out of North America's leader in anime as well as answer questions throughout the panel.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23rd

FUNimation Sneak Peek - 10:45 AM, Room 613-614 - Not sure what anime to pick up next? Come by and check out some of the newest anime titles from FUNimation Entertainment. We will be showing different clips from some of our newest shows.

Evangelion 2.22 Screening with Special Introduction - 4:30 PM, Room 6C - In the earliest battles against the monstrous Angels, young Eva pilots Shinji and Rei were forced to carry humanity's hopes on their shoulders. Now, with the deadly onslaught of the Angels escalating and the apocalyptic Third Impact looming, Shinji and Rei find their burden shared by two new Eva pilots, the fiery Asuka and the mysterious Mari. Maneuvering their enormous Eva machines into combat, the four young souls fight desperately to save mankind from the heavens - but will they be able to save themselves? Special introduction from Kotono Mitsuishi, voice of Misato Katsuragi in Japan, and Tiffany Grant, voice of Asuka in the English dub.

There will also be some special events happening with FUNimation Channel at the booth, so keep an eye out on Facebook and Twitter for updates: Facebook.com/FUNimationChannel and Twitter.com/FUNiChan

That concludes all the festivities for those cons. If we aren't coming to a coast near you this weekend, then just keep your eye out for future conventions!

T-T I'm making a resolution to attend a con this year, any advice for this crowd dreading novice.

Need to save up some money for this. Anime is more expensive than drugs -_- More addictive too....I'M Not A DruggY! just so you know.
