I can't tell you how disappointed I was last night. I was so stoked to see Eva 2.0 and I organized a school club field trip and everything. And then, one the movie starts, it was subtitled!!!!
I was really looking forward to a dub and it was advertised as so. I asked the people running the theater and they said they no idea why it was subbed either, they thought they were getting the dub.

I see, Rojas. Off-hand, do you happen to have a list of the conventions where the English dub will be appearing? (i.e. the Chicago event)

I am not certain why this is subtitles-only for now, the theatrical run of Eva 1.0 I went to last year was English dubbed; is dubbing "finished" now or ongoing for different VA's? (Brina and Trina seemed to say they had finished).

Well, I've got to get updating the news soon...

tantei...they announced the English dub cast December 27th, yes Tiffany Grant is Asuka again (Yay)...but...who is this "Hillary" you speak of?

I know it's asuka (she is the orginal tsundare pretty much) but I thought they did not announce who played her yet, since last I checked they had a campaign going still to drag Hillary hag back to do the series yet again

@ tantei
the character pictured is Asuka, and on Dec 27 Funi announced the voice actors.

In coordination with the theatrical and home video release as well as materials, the theatrical showings of Evangelion 2.0 will all be the English subtitled version. The English dubbed version will be screened on a case-by-case basis at various conventions.

I would rather they tell us if she is coming back or not, you know the va of the character pictured in this post. because it is not like most of us can get to the select number of theaters anyway.

I agree with V: Funi, you should clarify this issue. It would be a real disappointment to go into the theatre expecting to see the dub and get a subtitled, Japanese one instead (or vice versa).

I'm going to the same location I did in 2009 for Eva 1.0 (West Edmonton Mall), where it was a dub showing. I hope that 2.0 will be dubbed there as well.

Please explain this, because we're honestly confused: it turns out that the "Rebuild of Eva 2" screening in New York City is subtitles-only, and most of the theatrical runs in other cities are actually subs-only.

Is the situation, that what is being called "Rebuild of Eva 2.0 theatrical run" is subtitles-only....and that the handful of screenings for "Rebuild of Eva 2.22", such as this Chicago one, will show the actual dub?

For that matter, will the on-demand streaming video version of Rebuild of Eva 2, which you announced last week, be subtitles-only or with dub?
