Well, as I'm sure you've heard already, Toonami is back! Adult Swim has released the schedule for this Saturday (5/26) and the first two new FUNimation shows in this new Toonami block are Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins. You may be wondering, who's in the English dub cast? Well, just take a gander below for the cast and crew list!
In case you've never heard of Deadman Wonderland, here's a short synopsis.
synopsis:
Death is the main attraction in Deadman Wonderland, from the studio that brought you Samurai Champloo and Ergo Proxy.
Ganta is the only survivor after a mysterious man in red slaughters a classroom full of teenagers. He’s framed for the carnage, sentenced to die, and locked away in the most twisted prison ever built: Deadman Wonderland. And then it gets worse.
At Deadman Wonderland, convicts are forced into brutal deathmatches for the amusement of the masses, the cheers of the crowd drowning out the screams of the dismembered. Even when Ganta befriends Shiro, an unusual female inmate, his dark fate crushes all hope – until he discovers the strange ability to wield his spilled blood as a weapon. Ganta learns his new skill might be related to the murderous man in red and uncovers disturbing secrets that could expose those who stole his freedom. He’s determined to see justice served – but first he’ll have to fight for his life in a prison that holds a million ways to die.

@Lobstercrevices: FUNimation isn't involved with drastic changes to stories like that. In fact they really only work with what they're given. Shows like Deadman Wonderland and the original FMA tend to have changes to the anime due to the manga or novel series not being finished. The anime and its project team only have so much of a budget and is usually only slated for so many episodes. The FMA Brotherhood reboot came after the manga was finished and all the plot holes could be filled in the ways that they were originally meant to be. These sort of shows also pop up due to popularity of the manga or novel at the point in time.
Basically, FUNi has nothing to do with that part of the show creation process, it had been already decided over in Japan way before it reaches state-side. It's waaaaay out of FUNi's creative and legal jurisdiction.
It was a good show it's just a shame that they screwed with the story just like they did with full metal alchemist and soul eater. I'm not sure if Funimation is the one responsible for these changes. I think they were for full metal but whatever. I hope sometime down the line they'll make more episodes or do a brotherhood type thing with the original story with Azami and stuff. Also isn't Deadman a little gorrier than what Adult Swim normally airs?
So awesome, So epic. Deadman wonderland, one of my favs is fianlly here. Toonami... just typing it brings back some great memories. Can't wait!
Sounds like a good show, Can't wait to start watching it every Saturday. Maybe when they're done airing this they will start airing Panty and Stocking, I'll already be long done watching it though since it comes out Juneish and I already have it preordered at Rightstuf
I'd be excited about more anime on TV if it was a channel I could actually get in Canada, but we get the short end of the stick again.
agree with Chrisc - I think they should change the show as soon as it finishes for a 12 episode show like this, replace it with like Hellising then come back for repeats after it finishes. But that is up to Toonami crew not FUNimation

Agrred with Chrisc. They really need to change the shos up when they've shown them after 2 or 3 times form start to finish. But this one looks good. Haven't checked it out yet. Been wating for plenty of free time to sit through it all. Be waiting to see how this turns out.
Definitely excited, and definitely watching! Can't say I knew much about the show until now, but it's certainly interesting, and the cast looks solid. I don't know Lindsay Seidel or Mary Morgan though, not sure if they're new or just new to me.
Anyway, I can't wait!
