Science and sorcery make for an explosive mix in A Certain Magical Index, an enthralling experiment in sci-fi adventure from the studio that brought you Toradora and Slayers Revolution!
Kamijo is a student in Academy City, where people use science to develop supernatural abilities. The guy’s got a lot of heart – luckily for a young nun named Index. She’s on the run from a sorcery society that covets the astonishing 103,000 volumes of magical knowledge stored in her memory. When Index stumbles into Kamijo’s life, she find a faithful friend and protector, and while Kamijo’s easily the weakest kid in Academy City, he’s got something else going for him: the Imagine Breaker, an unexplainable power stored in his right hand that negates the powers of others. With scientists and sorcerers attacking from all sides, the Imagine Breaker will definitely come in handy – but it’s Kamijo’s loyalty to Index that will be his greatest weapon in the fight to keep her safe.
You can place your order now for the DVD, available on 10.30.12! Now here's your first look at the A Certain Magical Index trailer.

Touma's voice is something I can get used to, Misaka's feels a bit too strong in something but I just can't pinpoint it, however I would need to see more of her performance for a more solid opinion, Index's voice is... eragh... maybe I can get used to it, but I didn't really like the voice that much, too high pitched. Depending on how I finallize my opinions for the rest of their performace and how accelerator sounds will change and cement my decision for better or worse, but I'll still go out and get it out of love for the series.
Scott Freeman..... Wait.... He plays britian in hetalia!..... JESUS!!!! BRITIAN JUST TOTALLY GOT A VOICE ROLL THAT'S BADASS!!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!..... You would get that if you watched the falling star scene in hetalia.... yah.
This trailer gets me super excited; been waiting for both Index and Railgun series. Although, I am very disappointed about no Blue-ray; hopefully the DVD version sells well enough for a future release.
Awesome!!! love the trailer!
Somehow, I knew Monica Rial would play Index. The trailer was good too!
Well... Whatever. Have at it, Haas.
This animu as such a large cast of characters; as if they're trying to be the Japanese X-men.
But it's all ruined by Kamijo and the fact that he SUCKS @ LIFE. The only things good about him are his "Image Breaker" powers and his non-discriminatory "Touma Punch."
And I understand that nobody likes Kazuma Yagami nor "Stiggaz Wind Attitude" for obvious reasons. But I'd rather have Kazuma than Kamijo anytime. It's a shame that more characters like him and Rogue Hero Akatsuki aren't made by the sickeningly herbivore-esque weeaboo animu industry. ;_;
I just needed to get that off my back.
Well since they already dubbed this when this news came, it would already make sense to show it much earlier.
I was ecited to see the cast on th ememeber thread. CAn't wait for this to come in.
Its a fairly decent voice cast but still not that impressive to be honest I was hoping to see more veteran based voice actors in the cast but its a mix of a few classic voice actors and the rest have been working for barely three years a typical Funimation voice cast when you get down to it pretty average but I'll check a few episodes out of the series to get a feel for the dub I'm sure it will be a solid dub but I would like to see ADR directors take more creative risks in casting voice actors/voice actresses instead of the same predictable choices that I've been seeing in all of the recent dubs from Funimation.
Great cast! Great trailer! Great Show! There is only 1 MAJOR problem.... No Blu-ray is unacceptable. Please tell me that you guys are gonna release a Blu-ray in the future I really want this show but I can't bring myself to get it without a blu-ray.. Hey FUNimation Look out for your loyal fans.. or um... Me and give me a Blu-ray release in the future. Same with Deadman Wonderland.
