Rideback is wonderful. Got my DVD/Bluyray combo pack yesterday. Watched the entire series in one sitting. I had previously seen it on Hulu streaming earlier in the year and fell in love with it.
I would like to know why Funi edited out certain parts? Maybe someone from Funimation can elaborate. For example, In episode 8 when Okakura (Goblin) goes to rescue Rin at Kiefer's mansion, the part where he is shot is entirely missing? All you see is him after that, when Rin asks him why he risked his life for her. She asks him if he needs help. I checked it out on both the Bluray and Dvd and against the streaming episode, it's changed. The whole end of this episode is different. I suspect that other episodes have similar edits? Hope someone out there could answer my question? Why edit it?
Still a great series.
The streams will have used the broadcast version of the show - perhaps there are changes to the DVD version? You would need to confirm with someone who has the Japanese discs.

To add onto it. It looks like the OP is confusing the recap footage in the beginning of episode 9 to the scene in episode 8.
The recap footage from the beginning of episode 9 is very similar to what was described by the OP.
The scene in episode 8 in question is at the 44:00 mark on DVD disc 2. I even went and watched the scene on the stream and the content was exactly the same.

Hey Thanks everyone for checking on this issue for me. I stand corrected just watched it on the BluRay again and played perfect through that scene. I think this is a hardware issue. I'ts possible that it skipped. I have had it do that once before. Dust maybe. Strange though it did it twice when I watched it last night.......lol.
Everyone Should watch RideBack. Im a Nana Mizuki fan so Im a bit pro Japanese language on this series. English dub is very good too.
Geez, I almost had a heartattack when I saw the topic name. I just got in Rideback and now it turned out it was censored? That would have sucked hard.
