Discus and Watch the Anime Here
What the Anime is about:
The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person's state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho-Pass" in the anime's title refers to a standard used to measure an individual's being. The story centers around the "enforcement officer" Shinya Kogami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.

Well, in the grand scheme of things, I guess 100 years isn't that far away. And I am looking forward to this this season.
Really good concept, kinda George Orwell's 1984 meets BladeRunner. In a society where a person's criminal potential is monitored, the criminals are used to hunt down their own kind. Sounds like a pretty screwed up society to me already, even if the threat of crime is a fraction of what it is today.
I really hope you guys are enjoying the series! It's a show I am really excited about personally.
Seen a couple episodes on the live stream on Fridays on Youtube crazy stuff
Wow, this discussion really fell off.
Thats what makes Urobuchi so amazing.
This story keeps raising the bar with each new episode, should be one hell of a finale.
Too bad Funi doesn't keep their simulcast series' forums more accessible in the forums, I bet there would be a lot more discussion in here as I think this is a great series. The latest episode was quite good. I can't decide which eventual reveal of what the Sybil System actually is I would be happiest with. If I had to guess I would think it would be something along the lines of
I am hoping though that it is something totally unexpected especially how it was built up as something extraordinary that no one would stand for it it was made public.
Hopefully this will eventually get a nice blu ray release, because I already have a nice spot next to my Ghost in the Shell collection waiting for it.
Sponges grow in the ocean. That just kills me. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn’t happen.- Steven Wright
Blu Ray, yes please.
I don't think Sybil is just going to wind up being an AI. Guseong pointed out several things: First, Sybil would be impossible to centralize with any known technology.
Second, WHY would they go to the trouble of not only centralizing it and hiding it, but masking its centralization by making it mostly appear decentralized, unless there was something that made it necessary to hide. Decentralizing it would have made it impervious to hackers except on a zone-to-zone basis, and those situations can be dealt with easily.
Third, when he saw it, Guseong was in absolute awe and stated that he did not NEED to destroy it, that distributing information on its true form would completely eradicate any confidence people had in it.
It would have taken nothing but a little bit of video footage from a phone to undo not only Sybil, but the entire NATION. That tells me it is something blatantly taboo. Something that just a surface glance will criminalize.
All of the above points to Sybil's hardware consisting of a biomechanical think tank... humans crammed in stasis chambers.
Just polished off the new S-cast. Looks like:
Still sad over Kagari's death. ;-;
