I should not have looked at this thread, so much for getting any work done now. I went in search of the cast and it looks amazing. I will now have to find someway to watch the Paradise Kiss movie as well. I am not usually someone who is into live action shows or movies, though I am definitely going to give this one a try. I would love more anime but I suppose for now at least I can settle with this.

well it appears its premiere date is July 22nd and there have been some promos floating on youtube and a cast interview that someone subbed in english talking about the show...

I really liked the wallfolwer Live action, as well as the Tantei Gakuen Q live action, and I think that an ouran Live action could easily fall into that category

So, dumb question - did this ever premiere yet? If so, anyone watched any of it to see how it is yet? I've been kinda interested in seeing how this goes even if I never watch it, so I'm curious.

it airs in japan for the first time this friday... no word if any site is simulcasting it yet.. i posted 2 youtube links a few posts up showing its commercial and a cast interview subbed

It will more than likely end up being like the live-action Hana Kimi. So I am not at all worried and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully Funi will pick it up and simulcast it.

on their official site (in japan), the producer of the show said they are sticking as close to the story as possible ( in both the anime and manga).. the cast said they even "studied" the manga and anime to get as close as possible to the how the characters should be acting..
they admitted eventhough they are a low budget show running at midnight, they went all out to make it look as close to the real deal as possible..
the show just had its first airing, so hopefully somewhere online will have info about it.. they even have their own twitter account for the show (if you can read japaneese)

i just got to watch episode 1 .. and wow.. they did an awesome job keeping the balance like the anime's 1st episode did.. the special effects used make it very entertaining.. staying very true to the story..while having the perfect comedy compliments in the special effects and on screen graphics in the show they did an awesome job with it.. now lets hope funi gets in the action and picks it up stateside...
you could probably run the anime audio in the background and it would fit almost perfectly.. a few scenes were slightly tweaked from the anime, but it doesnt affect the story at all, and still keeps the flow going
tamaki's actor nailed him on the head.. you know right away you are watching ouran...
and hes still the last to find out that haruhi is a SHE.. hhehe
a perfect blend of comedy and special effects make it feel like a live action anime..
episode 2 appears to be the health inspection day episode...
this should be a fun show to watch as it goes on..
